Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

I'm not in my studio today, but I can check tomorrow when I'm there and will remove agdpmod=pikera and report back. If I remember correctly I wasn't able to boot without it. Yes, my beta version is 21C5039b. my smbios is different from yours, I'm iMacPro1,1. Because of that, and because Im on a vision G board, my config will be slightly different than yours...

I'd say it's worth checking that you are on OC 0.7.5 with the most up to date Lilu.kext and WhateverGreen.kext, and if you are using Casey's EFI that he so graciously shares, then double check that you are using the config-AMD-GPU.plist and NOT the config-Intel-iGPU.plist
Thank you for your mention about config.plist.
I think I should forget to change config.plist...
Yes, I did forget to change config.plist...

Hi guys,
I found a new method to increase VRAM of UHD 630.
It seems to increase the performance.

Does anyone have an update regarding getting the i255 Ethernet port working on the Z490 Vision D/G using Monterey? Not really a big issue for me on my Vision D build as I can use the i219, but sure would be nice to have that port functioning on my Vision G. I know that the recommended work-around is to use a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. I have not tried one of those yet. I have been reluctant after reading one report of high CPU utilization during large file transfers. Maybe someone can share whether they have experienced this. I also do not want to tie up the only USB-C port on the back of this board. Instead of a USB-C adapter is there a PCI-e card that would work? Most of the ones I have looked at seem to be using a Realtek chip. Does Monterey support any of these? Doesn't have to be 2.5 GB, I can make do with a 1 GB port.

Unfortunately no update even though some folks in another forum appear to have found a way to inject older drivers into latest Monterey. However, the procedure is a bit involved and will have to be repeated after every new version of Monterey is installed. The best choice for now is a USB-based 1GbE or 2.5GbE adapter. The adapter does not have to be USB-C. There are plenty of USB Type A Ethernet adapters.

Hey wise one @CaseySJ - should I be concerned at all about this error that OC Validator is reporting on my config.plist:

Original path: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1C,0x1)/Pci(0x0, 0x0)
Path after internal conversion: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1C,0x1)/Pci(0x0,0x0)
DeviceProperties->Add[0]->DevicePath is borked!

I got the Fenvi card for wireless, but the Bluetooth doesn't work (surprise!). I read that I have to disable the onboard Bluetooth but I am a newb at this, and don't know how.

Also, I have a 4K monitor, and I am using the 10700K integrated GPU. But it's not giving me 4k, just 1440p and below. Any ideas?

See that space in the middle of “Pci(0x0, 0x0)”? That space is not allowed.

Some immediate thoughts:
  • Which motherboard are you using?
  • If Z490 Vision D, are you using the EFI from this thread?
  • The EFI from this thread disables Intel Bluetooth by default.
  • Is the Bluetooth USB cable connected to the Fenvi and to the motherboard’s internal USB header?
  • Which version of OpenCore?
  • Are you using HDMI via HDMI to HDMI cable? Or DisplayPort via USB-C to DisplayPort cable?
  • What is the make/model of the monitor?
  • Have you tried switching resolutions in System Information —> Displays?
