Entire system simulations, the same thing I do with my cMP now.
My last "Sandbox" included various java applications and SQL servers spread across 9 Windows 10 servers running on VMWare Fusion. All running concurrently. Think of it as an enterprise in a box.

Yup, a 2015 2.8GHz iMac 
Changed over from ... to Apple with a new G3 iBook, way back when. Had many since. Probable favourite was an eMac. Loved it! Also loved being able to dual-boot into the old System x.x when it was an option.

I currently use an Early 2015 BTO Macbook Pro, with the following specs: 3.1GHz i7, 16GB RAM, Intel Iris 6100, 1TB SSD. I also have a mac mini, that for some reason would not boot past recovery or even a bootable USB.

Good choice. Sell the 2010 Mac Pro while you can still get a good price for it. Helps offset the high cost of the 18 core i9 CPU.

I own a 2017 12.9 IPad Pro with the latest os, A late 2011 15’ MacBook Pro with High Sierra, a 2009 Mac Mini with El Capitan, and a 2003 or so PowerMac G5 that I want to Hackintosh. I use everything but the G5 pretty regularly with the iPad and MacBook Pro getting daily use.
