Hi all,

Thanks to this guide, I have been able to get similar build up and running which features the same motherboard.

The only issue I'm having now is with Thunderbolt; it only works in OS X after restarting the machine.

I've experienced this issue before with an older build (GA-Z77MX-D3H-TH) and the friend for whom I did the build accepted it for what it was, even though other builds I have done with that model of motherboard never experienced the issue.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced such issues with this or any other TB-equipped motherboard?

If not, I will consider RMA'ing the motherboard (which might not even be an option, as the TB works everytime when booting into Windows).

Core system specs are as follows:

6700K
z170X-UD5-TH (F5 BIOS)
Crucial Ballistix 16GB DDR4
Samsung 850 Pro 256GB

Thoughts?

Edit: I have another system I am experimenting with (6950X, ASUS Deluxe II, 32GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4) and the same TB3-TB2 adapter allows my TB devices to show up every time, so I can confidently rule out my TB adapter as a culprit.

** FORBIDDEN ICON -- When restarting I frequently get the Forbidden Icon, to get past that I immediately hold down the SHIFT KEY until the progress bar appears, then I release it and it boots normally, this does not invoke Safe Boot. Not sure why it works, but it does. MULTIBEAST and included Updated Clover fixed this!!

Hi,

Any thoughts as to how the Forbidden Icon situation was fixed with the Updated version of Clover?

I just updated Clover on my 6950X, ASUS Deluxe II, 32GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 build which has a ThunderboltEX 3 TB card and am still getting the dreaded Forbidden Icon...

My apologies to all as I realize this question may be slightly off-topic...

Am hoping for some assistance. I have built multiple desktop and laptop hacks, but am completely stuck. I migrated my old desktop hard drives to my new GA.-Z170X-UD5 TH and can only boot into one of them.

1. Toshiba OCZ Vertex 120GB SSD - This drive has Sierra on it and I can boot into it. I cannot boot into it if I select inject Intel and get a black screen instead. Boots fine with inject Intel off, but no acceleration.

2. Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD - This was my main drive and the one my family uses daily. I cannot boot into this drive no matter what combination of Clover settings I try. I really need to be able to boot into this and have even tried reinstalling Sierra onto it (not clean install because I do not want to lose everything) but that does not seem to work. I am attaching my Clover folder in hopes someone can help me figure out what is wrong. I have also attached a photo of where the boot processes hangs up.

I occasionally get the forbidden icon, not sure if it's because I have a dual boot setup, but when holding the shift key does not bypass the forbidden icon, a shutdown usually clears it up.

I am up and running well, but have an odd problem. I am using the Intel 530 onboard graphics connected to a DELL 2408WFP Display via HDMI. If I tun off my monitor and turn it back on, an HDMI symbol appears in the upper left hand corner on a black screen and then a message in the middle of the screen says "Entering Power Save Mode?" I have tried everything I know and cannot get the screen to come back on other than rebooting the maching?

I want to install Windows 10 on a already running OS X 10.11.3 hackintosh (I will use a seperate ssd). Does anyone has a guide for me? All i found were just guides before using multibeast to do the post-installation.

Does any one run FCPX on such build ? Does it works ok ? Can you have an HDMi output to a TV as a A/V connection when using FCPX ?

I got the same mobo but the speed of the USB3 Ports is very slow, 50mb/s read.

Any ideas?
