Unable to boot after update 10.8.2 (can't find OEMsmbios in FakeSMC)

Hello all !

I can't boot after the combo update 10.8.2...

After the update, i haven't reboot immediately, and I have tried to delete OEMsmbios before reboot.

But I haven't found OEMsmbios in FakeSMC kext. (I have also activate the hiden folders with OnyX)

At reboot : Kernel Panic like many othe people.

I have luckily boot on safe mode, and haven't found yet OEMsmbios...
In safe boot, i have installed mu kext for my nvidia graphic card, and reboot.

Now I can't boot into safe mode...

I have clone my partition with CCC so i can restore it infinitely :)

Anyone can give me the way ? I have attach the pics of KP

Here is my specs :

GA Z68MA D2H B3 - UEFI BIOS (with DSDT edited for HDMI Audio)
i5 2500K
16GB RAM 1333
GT 520 MSI (with modified kext found on the forum)

Can I simply reinstall the graphics kext or I will should re-edit the kext for 10.8.2 ?

I have the same problem, only that after the sound assersions i get another error: considerRebuildOfPrelinkedKernel
I understand that we need to rollback the AppleACPIPlatform.kext

I'll try this when I get home and reply back.

Hi Onutadrian,

Try this command and see if it boots: -v -x GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000

I have tried this without success... :(

I'm stuck on this screen ... : ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin : : start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out

Riderfx3,

Okay, then you'll have to do this:

1) Remove your Nvidia card, and connect up your monitor to the Intel DVI port
2) Try booting up with -v -x PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=Yes
3) Reinstall the Nvidia Fermi OpenCL driver from Multibeast
4) Install Nvidia GEForce Mac Drivers here > http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-304.00.05f02-driver.html
5) Run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions on your OSX drive...

OK I have restart from scratch to be sure...

I Have restored my clean 10.8 partition, do the combo update, and reboot only with -v -x.

Boot OK with sad resolution.

I have installed Femi patch from multibeast and the the Nvidia drivers. Now it's time to reboot.

Congrat's man you solved my issue !!!! :D Thanks a lot !

What I did :

1. Install 10.8.2 with combo update pkg from Apple website
2. Reboot with -v -x
3. Install Nvidia fermi patch with multibeast
4. Install Nvidia driver from Nvidia website
5. Repair permissions with Disk Utility before reboot !
6. Reboot and enjoy :D

I have a last question.

Combo update have overwrited my Nvidia Kext with ID injection ?

If so, is that the Nvidia drivers replace the injection ID in the kext?
