Thanks. Tried it.
Basically if I use the Generic USB kext in MultiBeast 7.0.1 I get random kernel panics.
If I remove the generic kext I get kernel panics within minutes of getting to the desktop.
Use the 10/16 RehabMan kext it does a little better but sometimes freezes for no apparent...
I'm having serious USB issues. The RehabMan Generic USB kext is the same kext included in MultiBeast 7.0.1 right? If not can you add a link where you getting it?
I've mostly disabled sleep except display sleep. For a desktop that's how I prefer to work.
That being said USB is a serious issue. I can basically only use 1 USB2 port. If I plug anything into USB3 super speed ports it's a matter of time before I lock up. Sometimes I see some type of...
The board I am trying to install on has some quirkiness with USB when I tried to get Unibeast to boot. In my case I had to plug in a PS2 keyboard and remove all the USB devices except the boot stick and mouse which I have in different hubs. If I do not do this it looks kind of like it boots...
I have a working install of 10.9.4 using an E5-2680 v2 & Gigabyte GA-6PXSV4, however I can't seem to get Turbo or Speed Step to work. All cores are always at 2.8. I have tried generating an SSDT using Pike's script and it loads and it seems like it should work, but looking at HW monitor there...
Apparently I posted too soon, and had to be told to search more. /sigh I still don't really have an answer to what the error means, but thanks for pointing me at some other discussions.
For anyone else who might inadvertently read this, the gibberish error is apparently the standard...
I know the hardware I have is not the best in terms of compatibility but I had to give it a fighting try.
I am able to get 10.9.4 to install and boot once using -x PCIRootUID=0 flags. Then after running Multibeast and attempting to reboot I cannot get it to start.
A regular boot leads to...
Same issue with GA-Z77X-UD5H F7 bios with a Sonnet Allegro FW800 which is also a TI chip. However in my case disabling WOL fixes the issue. I only have the Intel NIC on my board active, the Atheros is disabled.
My sleep problems appear to be caused by hardware. One or both of the video cards has bad vram. On the PC side I've had to clock down the memory to 1450 MHz to prevent video error. Unfortunately I can't afford a replacement just yet.
I removed IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector kext. The system seems to have not needed it but I still get the rainbow wheel in disk utility.
I'm getting better at command line for mac disks now :)
1) Watercool without chopping up a fancy aluminum case and voiding your warranty.
2) When I boot into Windows to play a video game (all that Windows is good for) I can use SLI. Bootcamp can't on a Mac Pro because the board doesnt support SLI.
3) RAM speeds greater than DDR3 1600.
4) Use PCI...
I'm super data paranoid, so I combine MacZFS with daily RSYNCs to a FreeNAS system as well as time machine backups of the system volume to the same FreeNAS system that also presents a time machine disk.
I also keep my super critical music data in Dropbox so that copies are always syncing to...
I use a Sonnet Allegro FW800 card http://www.sonnettech.com/product/allegrofirewire800pcie.html to run my TC Electronic Impact Twin as well as a couple of FW800 external drives. I've had all 3 ports populated at the same time and it works like a champ. I know a lot of the recommended boards...
