Sorry for the stupid question - but what is the point of extracting the VBIOS with GPU-Z? Also, is it possible to nonetheless flash the VBIOS when the GPU is soldered?

I haven't. I instead had to go with integrated graphics, Intel UHD 630. However that came with its own sleep issues, and I still haven't been able to fix the webcam nor the trackpad... at this stage I've kinda given up on it.

[usb] USB3 _PRW 0x0D (instant wake)
Neither of them have changed the result at all - I still get the split screen with a bit of a moving glitch upon wake.
