    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks @CaseySJ - moved my USB2 hub from the USB3 hub in my monitor to the USB2 port where my scanner was plugged in and I'll see how that goes.

Any guesses on an issue I've been having on and off for ages, with uptime ranging from hours to weeks my USB will suddenly die. I'll be working, and my Magic Mouse will freeze and my keyboard will be non-responsive and after a minute or so it will scold me about not ejecting my backup drive...

I'm on 5119, I'll give it a try when I'm feeling brave. Thanks as always.

@CaseySJ I've been hanging back on Mojave, does your Clover 5120 mini-guide apply?

I made a guess based on the values in the original post for OcQuirks-4.efi and comments in the GitHub readme:

I got it working. Updated to latest OCQuirks.efi/OpenRuntime.efi Removed VirtualSmc.efi/FwRuntimeServices.efi Updated VirtualSMC.kext/SMC*.kext

I installed the new Lilu/WhateverGreen/AppleALC/VirtualSMC that were released yesterday. I was unable to fully boot until I reverted the VirtualSMC to the previous version. The message in verbose was busy timeout for AppleACPICPU Any clue as to what I need to do to keep up with VirtualSMC...

I'm a linux guy by profession, so I have a habit of dealing with files in the shell. I switched and it works now, I'll have to read up on the differences. Thanks Casey!

Blah, tried the CMOS twice. The first time after I loaded defaults I loaded an old saved set. That time 0x5c1 still showed 0x00. The second time I set everything from scratch, 0x5c1 was back to 0x01 so I unlocked it again. NVRAM was no good either way. │ ├── CLOVER │ │ ├── ACPI │ │...

@CaseySJ I've been happily humming along with my hack for a while now and lost track of your progress here for a while. I just came back and saw you had added native NVRAM and went about following those instructions. I disabled the lock and added and removed files as you indicated but my NVRAM...

Thanks, I understand how to do it now. Still confused about the Base64 part, I can't reproduce those values using the base64 command in the shell. In any case, layout 27/1B/GwAAAA== turned out to be the one I was looking for. It makes the main (green) rear output "Internal Speakers" and...

    I was wondering if you could help me understand part of the config.plist you provide: <key>Properties</key> <dict> <key>PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1f,0x3)</key> <dict> <key>AAPL,slot-name</key> <string>Built In</string>...

Error allocating 0x#### pages at 0x####alloc type 2

Thank you so much for posting this. I messed up my config.plist and was trying to boot from my USB installer and kept getting this allocation error. I tried the various fixes from other posts as you did and they were no help. Turning off iGPU from the BIOS was the key to getting it to boot.

@CaseySJ wanted to post some thanks! I used your guide for a fresh Mojave build and everything went extremely smoothly. What is the difference between the SSDT for your case and the one for the R6? I have the R6 USB-C case and I'm using your original one, everything is fine except for front...

    Why Only On Removable Media?

Why does Unibeast now insist on removable media? I used to just set it up on an extra partition on my SSD and installs would be super fast.
