I finally received my FL1100 card from China. The card came slightly bent from shipping but still seems to work. However, if the card is already inserted, plugging a USB 3.0 device causes the card to stop working. This doesn't happen when I plug a USB 2.0 device into the card. I can eject the...
Interestingly, if I remove the GenericUSBXHCI.kext and let OS X use it's own driver the bus shows up in USB. I tried plugging an Apple Mighty Mouse into the card and it shows up. However, the movement is EXTREMELY slow and erratic.
I'm reading elsewhere that the NEC/Renesas cards are not supported in 10.11. I've ordered a Fresco Logic FL1100 card to give it a go. At least these things are so cheap.
I'm running El Capitan on a Dell Latitude E6420. I bought a generic NEC Renesas uPD720202 ExpressCard and installed the Generic XHCI kext. The card shows up on the menu bar and I see it in the PCI section in System Information but no USB 3.0 hub is showing in the USB section. Plugging devices...
More or less. I don't remember where I got it but I now have a kext that works properly and doesn't need to have the keyboard mapping adjusted. As well as having the sensitivity not cranked so high.
The only problem I have now is that sometimes on boot it will immediately sleep before showing...
Add it to the Arguments line in your config.plist file. I don't know why you'd want to do that as you're limiting performance. Fixing the underlying problem is better.
For the wifi card getting a different known compatible one is the general workaround. What card is in your system?
I've got it semi-working now. It still will sometimes hibernate during boot. For some reason if I put "-v" in the boot arguments I can wake it by hitting the power button and it will be at the login screen. Previously I would wake it and just get a black screen and have to hard power it off...
Ok, after some discussions on another forum it has been determined that the problem is a modified VoodooPS2Controller.kext that has been modified to work with the ALPS touchpad that comes with these particular models of Dell Latitude laptops.
Replacing that kext with the latest version allows...
Ok, here are the requested items. I did this from my new clean install without any additional kexts installed. I also attached my clover folder again for completion. There was also no output from rebuilding the kext cache.
Same issue with a fresh install. There's a thread on OSX Latitude saying that they didn't have this problem until an update called "OS X El Capitan Recovery 1.0" was installed. Could just be coincidence though.
I have a new clean installation of El Capitan 10.11.4. I have everything working except that it will only boot if I use the cpus=1 boot argument. I get the attached kernel panic if I let it use more than one CPU. I previously had 10.11.3 working fine without that option and Yosemite works fine...
I have done a clean install of 10.11.4 on my Dell Latitude E6420 with a Sandy Bridge i5 2520M CPU. I have everything working except that it will only boot with the cpus=1 argument. While it works it is not at all ideal. When I boot without that argument I get the attached kernel panic. I know of...
