Ok, I think I have it. The 1st pic is the last thing that's on the screen before I get the mouse cursor flashing intermittently. The second was a one line bit of info that it flashed once when I restarted... Thanks so much for your help btw!!

Could it have something to do with the fact that Terminal states that SIP is enabled? csr-active-config in config.plist is currently set to 0X3 which means Partially Disabled (Loads unsigned kexts,) yet Terminal says it's enabled. I read if I switch the car-active-config to 0X67 in config.plist...

Whoa... Are you referring to USB flash drives when you say "Intel, or Marvell" etc? How can I find out? Threw away the packaging. I was planning to install on a HDD, but can't even get that far. The cpu doesn't see the USB stick, but does, however see the HDD.
