Hello All,
I am looking to make a hackintosh to act as a HTPC. I don't want a aTV because it doesn't do 1080p content and the mac mini is twice the price of what I can build. What I am curious is that with the H55M has on board HDMI driven by the CPU. I was wondering if I would be able to use...
Dual Xeon would be faster then a single i7 six core as you can get a 6core Xeon at 3.33 that is the exact same as the i7 six core but a Xeon so you can use multiple CPUs. That is all assuming the applications you are using can are multithread. For most games at this point in time they are able...
i7 CPUs are unable to do multiple CPU configurations. You have to use the Xeon Server Processors if you plan on using multiple CPUs. I do not completely understand the technical side of things but two i7 processors together wont work. That is why the new Evga SR-2 which has two cpu's says it is...
Every thing looks good in your build. I agree with previous poster about using a sony dvd drive just based on other posts. If you want to save some money you could drop the Full Tower case unless you plan on expanding later. Looks good. Post how the build goes. Thanks.

If you are going to be using it as a HTPC, internet, online movies...
It seems you have made up your mind. Let us know how it works out cause if you get one for 50 percent off and its in perfect condition I would do it as well. Thanks.
I would imagine it is possible but might require you to do some extra work in configuration but because Snow Leopard supports using a dual cpu set up as we know with the Mac Pros it should be entirely possible. I would be really interested to see if this is possible. Might have a new project for...
