I saw the i7-975 (regular price $1k) on eBay from sellers with 100% ratings from over 80 people, selling the processor (in condition: New) for <$500! For that price steal, why would I not want to buy it? However, there might be a reason not to get the CPU from eBay, so I am asking around here for any opinions before pulling the trigger.

Don't do it.

If it sounds too good to be true it most likely is.

Yet, if these people provide money-back offers (within 6 months), and they give a good reason, then why not go for it?

I got an Xserve G4, a 3k machine, for $132 on eBay. 92.7% rating. It was real, it works fine, for over a year now.

It seems you have made up your mind. Let us know how it works out cause if you get one for 50 percent off and its in perfect condition I would do it as well. Thanks.

Ok, nobody here can give me an argument that shakes my ideas, so yes, I have made up my mind. Will post when I get the processor, after selecting one from a trusted person, of course.
