Solved in post https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/updated-to-catalina-10-15-4-now-external-monitor-has-problems.294277/ , just use igfxonln=1 as whatevergreen parameter. Patches were applied indeed, only the HDMI monitor did not power up unless replugged.
Would like to boot my current production mojave that uses clover, while also booting a fresh install of Catalina on another SSD using OpenCore. Both will use VirtualSMC, etc., but the very first line of OpenCore tutorial warns about clearing NVRAM of clover stuff.
So will the installs fight...
TL/DR: Under Catalina I cannot get the Connector Type patch to define each of the laptop video outputs to work. As a result, the HDMI port has sleep/wake problems. With same config.plist, dual-booting Mojave, it works flawlessly and the patch is applied.
I have installed a fresh catalina on...
@hut2016, Thanks for taking a look to my configuration.
I consciously removed the rename as instructed in WEG manual, https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/blob/master/Manual/FAQ.IntelHD.en.md point 12, and also checked out that in the rest of files, SSDT-PLNF included, there are no...
Thank you very much for your help, looks very related to my problem, but unfortunately nothing changes. I modified the SSDT-PNLF provided by WEG, and also tried another DSL in that thread that is slightly different.
I have a HP 450G4 laptop. It originally came with a (horrible) TN screen. I have mojave 10.14.6 and brightness was working 100% on the TN panel.
So I changed the TN panel for a compatible IPS panel I just bought, an AUO B156HAN01.1.
Now, the display only works at maximum brightness level. Any...
Well unfortunately issue keeps happening after removing the USB port limit patch :roll2: I found acidanthera's fork of VoodooPS2Controller at https://github.com/acidanthera/VoodooPS2/releases, gonna give it a try !
Ohh thanks for noticing! I had forgotten about ACPI/patched since the first High Sierra install and indeed all USBs are correctly defined there :headbang:
Well I am going to give it a try then! Removed the limit patch and all 4 USBs are recognized, so I guess this laptop wouldn´t ever need it! Thanks for the tip-.
Doing it now. Regarding the original question, I am most interested in knowing if there is a software way to reset VoodooPS2Controller, as re-sleeping and waking up solves the issue. Do you think it can be done?
I followed it originally for Sierra and Mojave 10.14.0, but later made some changes to transition everything to Lilu + Whatevergreen + AppleALC. To be honest I had doubts whether that USB patch was still required or not, I found conflicting documentation about the subject. So should I remove...
I see you are using ApplePS2SmartTouchpad.kext, unless it is for a good reason, I think you should change it to VoodooPS2controller version 1.9.2. Check out https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Voodoo-PS2-Controller/wiki/How-to-Install
Not really a Mojave issue as I have been experiencing this since High Sierra. I hoped it would be solved with 10.14.6 + VoodooPS2Controller 1.9.2 but unfortunately it still happens.
Sometimes after waking from sleep, trackpad does not work. It tends to happen if the laptop has been sleeping for...
Laptop HP ProBook 450G4 (Internal + VGA + HDMI) (updated)
Thanks a lot for this detailed guide. Thanks to it I managed to setup my Laptop HP ProBook 450G4 using only Lilu + Whatevergreen and deleting all the rest of stuff from config.plist.
Before using the guide, connectors were working, but...
