Hi,
After a successful build using Catalina using Clover, i decided to move to Open Core and Monterey at the same time.
A followed dortania's guide and it went pretty smooth actually, taking a bit more than an hour to configure it all. The installation of Monterey went well and system is up and...
Hi,
I'm sorry but i didn't use ACPI. I just used the file SSDT-EC.aml located in the "EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/Patched" folder of the EFI.zip on this post. This is mainly to fix USB ports not working or things specific to the Mainboard, but not entire ACPI configuration.
So if you have a "similar...
Background
It's been around 8 years since my first build, using Snow Leopard 10.6, and another machine especially built for Hackintosh, as a daily driver (Z68 MB and Mountain lion i think). I then used Macs professionally and didn't need a personal computer at all. Now it's time to get my own...
Ok i got something working !
Got passed the installation screen and completed Catalina Installation, so happy :)
Here's what i did :
- Quadruple checked BIOS config and tested to change "Legacy Support Enable and Secure Boot Disable" option (never tried before).
- Followed precisely this...
Thank you for your response.
I can disable M2 slot in BIOS settings, i did it, still stuck in at the same point "RealtekRTL811.kext".
I checked BIOS settings, disabled virtualisation from day 1, but cannot be sure about AHCI as i do not seem to have an option for that.
Yep, fresh install from today, and the start of this thread.
Actually using the NVMe drive as windows main, and i plugged a SATA 500Go HDD to try the install. It's fresh FAT32 formatted.
Boot order is USB > SATA > NVMe
Ok thanks, i put the SSDT file in the folder, booted and passed some other lines.
Now it get stuck at line Ethernet RealtekRTL8111.kext
Should i try to find another RealtekRTL8111.kext or is it an SSDT patched thing again ?
Hi again and thank you for your responses.
Indeed i borrowed some EFI folders during my researches online. I did that because, for a while, i would not be able ton install Mojave/Catalina Unibeast propoerly. Installation process would end with an error message. I checked the logs but didn't...
Hi everyone,
A few years back i build 2 hackintosh, starting from Snow Leopard. My last successful build is in my signature, and is... 8 years old.
I now use "real" macs professionally, but i have the need to get a regular PC for a while. I bought this machine really cheap for the build and i'm...
MJ Gilbert, do you have any update on your issue ?
On my side, i don't wish to explore deeper, as my system is running well. At least i don't want to mess with chameleon again
Ok, i did all those things above.
- Installed chameleon and put the boot file and smbios file in the Extra folder : boot loop / black screen
- Then i tried using -x -v : same black screen. I tried to unplug my screen and plug it back on, or to another output. Didn't work.
- Then I...
I'm using Chameleon 4.0.1, and here is my boot plist file which i can boot with
EDIT : Tried to rebuilt caches with kext utility. Not a single change, still exactly the same lines when i boot with -v.
Hi,
This is how i boot already, graphics enabler = no is in my boot file.
Doesn't change anything if i change it to "yes".
Worked like a charm before, with the same video card on 10.8 and 10.9
Maybe it is sensor related, like when i install the FakeSMC Plugins ?
Hi,
I'm having quite the same problem too, except it doesn't matter if i type "UseKernelCache=No" at boot time. I can only boot if this option is written in com.chameleon.boot.plist.
Everything seems fine in Yosemite so far, except this.
Here is a screen using "UseKernelCache=Yes" and...
