These are Apples first Mac chips, and as such the slowest they will ever make, and the benchmarks are superb.
I can't wait to see how the M1X/M2 whatever they call the faster chips perform!
Something to keep in mind -
Apple have known this was in the pipeline for years
They spent years...
It was clover config.
Looking back at notes from the time - this is what I have:
- Definition: iMac 14,2
- enabled iGFX in BIOS
- Inject Intel FALSE
- platform ID 0x04120004
I'm pretty sure its the platform ID that does the trick
Do I need to worry that the injected values are higher than my motherboard supports? Assume the mobo can only provide so much power, so even if the values injected are higher it can’t do any damage?
I have a similar mobo to you, all i had to do was add the SSDT-EC file and reboot. Did you plug in a USB device and check System Profiler to see if you can see the additional lines? e.g.
thanks @balazs631 your post #546 made this so easy to understand. Currently watching my iPad charge pretty quickly instead of slowly drain through out the day!
Ive been using an old iPad as a second display (Duet Display app). All works great, but after 7-8hrs the battery dies as the USB port cant power it fast enough (its hitting the USB max of 500ma).
I saw that my motherboard has 'PowerBoost' (marketing!) that will allow 1500ma instead of 500ma...
Further update for anyone with a similar problem:
I re-enabled the iGFX and once I correctly set it to be connectorless everything worked as expected - and I now have h264 acceleration from the iGFX but only the RX560 showing in the OS (as it should/would on a real Mac)
Also fixed the...
So i just fixed this by disabling the built in Intel graphics and only having my ATI card. Seems like Duet uses the built in graphics and this is what causes the issue.
Im pretty sure theres a reason i had the built in graphics enabled, but i cant remember (it accelerates some things I think...
well yeah if you chose 4k on a 4k display its going to show 4k
When you say it renders at 4x the resolution, yes thats what i'm saying - that the x and y resolution are 2x, and of course that means there are 4x pixels.
Anyone using Duet Display? Ive noticed that some apps dont like when its running - i get a 'static' style image in apps.
It works on my 'real' mac, so im hesitant to log a bug as obviously a hackintosh isnt supported :)
