I'm not sure as this thread was for a particular motherboard and adapter. Sorry. On mine, security level to legacy worked. Try to find if your bios has any setting to change to legacy and that will probably do it.
Not yet, but I'm sure it'll work it's worked on every software change from a few years back. Just back up everything. Try it you have nothing to loose. Just keep in mind to always turn on ur uad Unit before turning on computer or it won't recognize it.

Ok my first question would be, if have both windows and OS X on the same HD like dual boot? or in separate hard drives?
Just to inform you guys and @Dajjal that Apollo 8 is working with GA-Z170x UD5 th and startech thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt adapter. Heres how i got it working.
Thanks for the recognition my friend! @PW8888 glad to see you got it done. I don't have the starting windows first problem. Remember I said to remove that windows hard drive and it won't do that anymore. What I do have to do is turn on apollo 8 first then start the system and it will pick it up...
@PW8888 try these bios settings i think its just your bios setup in windows. after it detects change bios settings to OS X settings bellow once you reboot back to OS X.
