For those with this build, what is the recommended HackinDROM USB profile setting? There are three choices: v1, v2, and v3. I chose one of them and it appeared to be working although my front USB-C port stopped working. So I moved my USB-C backup drive to one of the USB-C/TB ports on the back of...
Yes, I felt like that was likely the case. Upon further research it appears that 12.3 requires VT-D to be enabled in the BIOS in order for some (all?) Aquantia 10gb cards to work. Of course I violated all debugging rules and reverted to OC 7.8 AND changing my BIOS to enable VT-D. But I assume it...
@CaseySJ On the problematic 10g Ethernet issue: I managed to downgrade my OC install from 7.9 to 7.8 and selected the v3 patch for the AQC-107. I also turned ON VTD in the BIOS which I had read as helping to solve this specific issue on 12.3. Not sure which did it but now the Solo 10gb card is...
@CaseySJ So still no go on getting 10Gb Ethernet working that WAS working fine before 12.3 update. I made the patch changes (see below) and card is recognized but I can't get it to assign an DHCP IP address. I found another thread on insanelymac where this is being discussed and others appear to...
Thanks @CaseySJ However I used HackinDROM and only got the v2 patch in my EFI. I recently updated to OC 7.9 using the update procedure in HackinDROM and I still have only v2. Given that I have updated already, where do I find the v3 patch? Also: after doing research I found the info contained in...
@CaseySJ New problem I just noticed. My Sonnet Solo 10g Ethernet card has suddenly disappeared from my Hack. It was working perfectly once I enabled the Aquantia patch with HackinDROM. So perfectly that I never noticed when it dropped out since I also had WIFI turned on. But in copying some...
Sorry folks. Can't read through the 926 pages to answer this...
I have a Samsung 980 nvme drive I'd like to use for external backup. Is the TRIM issue with these drives ONLY for internal MacOS boot drive? When doing my build I went for the WD NVMe for my boot for this reason. But any reason I...
Interesting. Getting rid of the Broadcom kexts seems to have solved the BTT wake solution to reenabling BT without hanging. Excellent! Hope this helps others if they run into this issue. All working now.
@eXTriC and @jaymonkey I’m using Fenvi T919 card also connected to MB USB header. I did my install using HackinDROM for this MB and I do have the broadcom kexts that get enabled as part of that install. Sounds like neither of you are using these? Maybe @CaseySJ can comment on if these are needed...
@jaymonkey Thanks for this tip. It got me half way there. BTT turns off BT before sleep as expected. And after wake up I can turn BT back on manually without issue. However, I just now set the inverse so BTT will turn on BT after wake and I again see the same behavior as when I wake without...
@jaymonkey On #1, curious why you don’t just use the non-2.5 Ethernet port. I have the Vision-D so perhaps the G is missing this? I added a Sonnet Solo 10G card and it runs great if you find yourself wanting 10G Ethernet at some point.
On #2, I had the same issues with Apple’s BT peripherals -...
Thanks @CaseySJ I updated my config as per your suggestion and only selected v2 because that is the only one I see any information on your page 1 description. What is v3 for then? I couldn't find anything that gave info on which of the 3 options should be chosen given the VISION-D board.
What's...
@CaseySJ I have not searched. Nor did I know Apple's devices were an issue. I will research. But can you tell me if my Hackindrom resulting settings are correct from those screenshots I shared? I'd like to first get that set the way it should be and then I can start looking at fixing the...
