Surface Book 2 Mojave (mini) Guide

Battery patching can be pretty complicated. The full guide is here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-how-to-patch-dsdt-for-working-battery-status.116102/ For SB2 you'll need to search this site for a thread where SSDT-BATC is created for a different laptop. For SB2 somebody would need...

Surface Book 2 Mojave (mini) Guide

@Mrblackm124 I've not had time to look into the trackpad and probably won't have time for a while. As @xuzhimin1993 says, I think voodooi2c needs modifications to make it work for surface book 2.

    [question]Mojave on surface book 2

@Elideleville I run Windows 10, Ubuntu 18.10 and Mojave side by side on SB2. It took me several tries to get the right partition setup and all the various bootable installers. This guide is very helpful: https://hackintoshpro.com/dual-boot-hackintosh/ For Ubuntu I use the jakeday...

Surface Book 2 Mojave (mini) Guide

My trackpad works normal. Had to increase the tracking speed a bit in system preferences. (No gestures) I don't think the surface pro 4 trackpad is the same as the surface book 2 version. So none of the solutions for it worked. Probably requires a modified version of VoodooI2C.kext

Surface Book 2 Mojave (mini) Guide

I'm going to assume you've managed to get Mojave up and running. If not, I recommend the below guide (it has a few minor mistakes, but should get you up and running): https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/surface-book-2-15-mojave-on-external-hdd-guide.263273/ Now to fix hardware acceleration and...

<< Solved >> Surface Book 2 - hot CPU and internal monitor

Internal screen working. This post can be marked solved Will try to write up more details for other surface book 2 users. In short: Use @RehabMan 620 config. Then disable the framebuffer patching in there. Then insert the minStolen patch under kextToPatch. This 10.14 patch can be found in in...

Lid sensor flooding log with clamshellStateChanged

@MattMcHackit83 Ah. Very interesting! Thanks for letting me know. I thought I was alone in the issue. I've attached my patched up DSL if that is helpful. (You cannot use it directly, but you could repeat similar steps in your own DSDT) Also interesting your machine specs are somewhat similar...

<< Solved >> Surface Book 2 - hot CPU and internal monitor

Issue 1 (hot CPU) was fixed by commenting out the LID in DSDT. See: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/lid-sensor-flooding-log-with-clamshellstatechanged.272312/ Now CPU frequency and temperatures are normal. (LID sensor was stressing the CPU. You could see this inside MacOS by opening the...

Lid sensor flooding log with clamshellStateChanged

If any future Surface Book 2 traveler comes along: I fixed this by commenting out all "LID" code in DSDT. (So extract DSDT via the @RehabMan instructions via Clover F4. Then convert it to a DSL. Edit the DSL and search for the code block involving the LID (there's a whole bunch in the...

Lid sensor flooding log with clamshellStateChanged

Hi, (Mojave 10.14.3) I'm noticing my CPU quickly ramps up to max. Looking on Console I see endless messages from loginWindow.logging: clamshellStateChanged | Clamshell state changed: closed=0, shouldSleepWhenClosed=0 I'm guessing it is a problem with the lid sensor. I don't really need sleep...

<< Solved >> Surface Book 2 - hot CPU and internal monitor

Hi, I'm looking for some suggestions on two problems I am currently trying to fix for running Mojave on my surface book 2, 13 inch. I really hope I've attached the right debug files. I've also included a few pictures of hackintool and activity monitor. My base clover setup is 620 from...
