AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

No, I did not. But it's not a real issue, I can easily edit 4k videos with final cut even if I'm not getting HW acceleration. I can play heavy 4k video without any lag (maybe thanks to my CPU i5-12400). Maybe it's an issue of my particular card or configuration, maybe you won't have any...

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

I don't remember what vbios I had before, I think the 003, and that was not supporting booting without CSM enabled. Since I can have two bios on the same card I'll try to play a little with the second one (in case things go wrong), maybe I'll find something that works with MacOS. Thank you for...

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

This is a clean install of MacOS, so no previous version. I used to have the same GPU with a previous Haswell build, but I didn't ever check if HW acceleration was working. I never removed or added kext in S/L/E I have 588 elements under S/L/E, it's a bit hard to get a screenshot of them...

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

Sadly, no, it didn't make any difference. It's the first time that I see something like this, a supported GPU that somehow it's not working as it should be.

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

Well, I have the Tri-X model, not the Nitro that you linked (different clock speed, mine is 1000Mhz, Nitro is 1050Mhz). For the Tri-X the bios that I currently have should be the latest (it was sent to me from Sapphire support a few months ago and tech power up doesn't seem to have a more up to...

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

The manufacturer of my card is Sapphire, this model: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/sapphire-tri-x-r9-fury.b3427 I bought this GPU when it came out, brand new, it's not a flashed card for mining or something like that. I personally updated the bios with a version that Sapphire itself...

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

I tried changing my SMBIOS from iMacPro1,1 to MacPro7,1. I tried with the -radcoded and agdpmod=pikera. I tried adding different shikigva values. I also tried spoofing my GPU. I removed the unsuccessful fixes. Sadly I didn't find much on the web, is really uncommon that a supported GPU is...

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

Hi @UtterDisbelief , yes the driver is there and the ID is correct, as already shown by @Edhawk . This is really a mystery, I've been looking for an answer for months but no one has any idea where the problem is, the GPU is fully supported and the drivers are there.

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

I’m using a display port cable both out and in, no adapters. My monitor is a Samsung 4K 60Hz, model U28E570. Ok, thank you for the advice about the boot arguments.

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

Thank you for your answer. Yes, I already tried booting with those arguments removed, in fact I added them while trying to make HW acceleration to work. As you already pointed out they do nothing.

AMD R9 Fury no HW acceleration

Hi guys, second post that I'm making, no one seem capable of helping me with this. I have an R9 Fury, I'm on Monterey, latest OpenCore release. i5-12400F. Everything works really good execept for HW acceleration. What should I do? Thank you for your patience.

Stuck at gray screen with mouse cursor after booting Mojave [Haswell+Asrock B85M Pro4]

Ok, I did everything again, in Clover I selected the option that let me boot using the kext files instead of the standard option. Somehow it worked! Now I can go with the installation of Mojave. BUT, I have an internal 2TB HardDisk (sata connected) and an SSD nvme. The thing is that my...

Stuck at gray screen with mouse cursor after booting Mojave [Haswell+Asrock B85M Pro4]

I followed every single point, but it is never mentioned at any point that I have to install a kext file, and even now, reading again the installation guide I can't find anything related to FakeSMC.kext. I'm basically stucked between Step 4 and 5. Sorry for bothering you.
