Excuse me for asking a maybe silly question.
I am running a built with i7-2700K and RX570. I use Lilu/WhateverGreen/NoVPAJpeg kexts and iMac14,2 system definition.
If works pretty well, I have no issues that I would see. I sometimes use FCPX but haven't done so far. I use Mojave.
I also updated my Sandy Bridge system, but i use an external GPU since a long time already. The only thing
I changed was I switched from nVidia GTX 750 Ti to AMD RX570 because of the driver system. This did not
prevent me from upgrading (means: it did work with very bad basic graphic support...
To my knowledge, bot Nvidia cards use GPU with Kepler microarchitecture. Hence they should work OOTB in High Sierra and Mojave. The
AMD GPU is not listed here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/radeon-compatibility-guide-ati-amd-graphics-cards.171291/ so I doubt it would work. Cheapest...
That's because in that case they had to adopt capabilities of an additional (new) GPU to the requirements of the OS (Metal 1 and OpenGL), whereas now, they have to adopt the needs of the OS (Metal 2) to all their GPUs. That's basically rewriting the whole stuff and hence, the propability is high...
Only some (the older), but not the 750Ti. There is a small chance Webdrivers for Mojave will come in future,
but it doesn't look good. I had a 750Ti as well and thus switched to a RX570. Faster and works OOTB. It
seems Sapphire cards are working best. I had a KalmX, now I use the Mini. It has a...
as my onboard USB 3.0 did not work, I decided just for fun to buy an ASMedia 1142 USB 3.1 card.
First, it did not work, as i had a GenericUSBXHCI.kext installed that i did not remember. I removed it
and the 1142 card worked OOTB.
But to my surprise, besides the USB 3.1 bus, I now see...
I just switched my GTX750Ti by a Sapphire RX 570 ITX (mini) for obvious reasons. I use dual displays with DVI and HDMI. Currently, I run without any kexts. nVidia drivers uninstalled. Issue happens in High Sierra and Mojave.
Everything works just perfectly, despite that the fan of...
I did only a brief test with my Saffire USB 6 (USB 1.1) on Mojave and there was no issue. HS runs perfectly. But this one needs drivers, the 2i4 runs natively, when I remember right. I can retry this weekend. BR, Karlson.
Maybe it was clear for everybody already, but just to create hope for those that already
started saving money in order to upgrade their hardware: I did succeed (despite full
resolution accelerated graphics due to lack of nVidia Web drivers) to install Mojave lates
PB on my machine.
It seems it's what it say: deprecated.
It doesn't seem necessary, it works even with the error for me.
I don't know what it did, but here some hints about another option.
My hypotheses are (and I m seeking for someone who can proof before I can start trying out on my own Sandy Bridge):
When we hear Ivy Bridge is necessary this is related to several things:
1. to Apple's portfolio because the oldest system they support is at least at Ivy Bridge
2. to the need...
as posted a while ago, my only trouble with bluetooth is that all of a sudden, my Teufel Motiv B audio box will no longer reconnect after sleep like it did before. At the time of my first post, I was not able to create the problem file set, but now I am.
In the meantime I did some more...
RehabMan, I know you said the kext should work with High Sierra. Nevertheless my Bluetooth speaker doesn't connect automatically any longer after upgrading. I cannot provide log info, as for some silly reason there is no boot lines in
system.log. Firmware Version show v14 C5860 for an IOGear...
After upgrading to High Sierra, my IOGear GBU521 USB Bluetooth dongle no longer automatically
connects. Magic Mouse and Trackpad still do.
I use latest BrcmPatchRAM2 and BrcmFirwareData and inject through Clover. I can see the initial
kext messages in verbose boot mode and they look ok and I...
