Yes, but it was not because of the change from Default to Disabled of (SecureBoot). I think but I'm not sure I had not enough disk space. After making more space both of the method worked to update to 12.1

I have seen this problem on my board when I installed Monterey for the first time. After some research, I find out that is related to Intel Ethernet i225-V. What I have done was to remove or deactivated those from the config.plist ,and I had no freezes or reboots anymore.

My board doesn't have Thunderbolt cause its Vision G not D. But the USB-c, on it which at has, is working just fine.
