What type of drive are you using ? Could just be your drive is failing or has already failed. I've had to replace 3 SATA CD-RW drives in the past for one reason, all exhibited the same problem you are describing.

Besides the GA-P55M-UD2, what is another good Micro ATX board. I've been searching for a board but it seems the GA-P55M-UD2 is the only one suggested. I want the best compatibility with the most Out of box support.
