That FCPX crashing problem is affecting almost every Nvidia Maxwell card. So far there's no way around it. If I were you I would use Adobe Premiere, at least until this issue is fixed (make sure you have CUDA drivers installed if you want maximum speed in Premiere)

GTX 970 here. Same exact problem. Using the older build of FCPX (10.2.1) didn't help. And it crashes immediately on startup if I switch to OSX default drivers. It seems like our best bet at this point might be to let FCPX crash a ton and report it to Apple every time, flooding them with Final...
