I still can't get it to go from software update method. I reboot, I have no other boot options in Chimera beside my boot drive.
I can't figure out why OSX is not doing the upgrade.
Downloaded via App Store. I click the Install Yosemite installer, run it without error, and it reboots. When it comes back, I'm in Mavericks again. I can't figure out why it says it's installing, but doesn't actually do anything. Anyone have any suggestions?
Mine is booting fine X58A-UD3R Rev 2. Network works, video works, USB, etc. Only thing I haven't attempted is audio.
I also do NOT have that extension in S/L/E.
Final update. I got the system functional again after going through hard drive by hard drive. My Time Machine drive was corrupt somehow. I booted into an Ubuntu USB stick, formatted it, and now I'm booted/backing up again. Amazing how a corrupt drive can wreck havoc on Chimera/Chameleon.
I unplugged the time machine HDD of my 3 internal HDDs (1 - boot, 2 - data, 3 - time machine) and got to a rBoot menu. I don't see any HDD boot options listed, so I'm starting to question why? As mentioned I used a Linux Boot CD and can get to the boot HDD. Is it possible my kernel is screwed...
So I've confirmed my boot drive is alive, as I booted a Linux boot CD and was able to see all my boot drive data.
I reset my BIOS and set all the ACHI/HPET settings back. That didn't help.
Curious how to recover without rBoot. Popped in my old iBoot DVD for giggles and it also gets stuck.
Rebooted my desktop today and got stuck at a spinning cursor in the latest Chimera. I then attempted to use rBoot and got the same thing. Any suggestions?
Attached a picture from rBoot.
Finally updated to FH. Gigabyte gave me a few RARs. I'm attaching for anyone having issues with updating to FH BIOS. First unrar FG1 to a USB and boot it. Second unrar the FH to a USB and boot it.
Is there a sound card I can buy that is natively supported? What do the newer Mac Pros use chipset wise? Could we find some card with that same chipset?
Re: New Optimized AppleHDA for Realtek ALC 889 on Lion
Thanks for this. Are we ever going to just be able to run Software Update without having to reinstall / rollback the AppleHDA? I miss that from my Snow Leopard days.
Changed my serial # 3 times so far, all validated on Apple's website. Unfortunately iCloud still is giving me "unrecognized apple id or password" error still.
