That is the difference, I never bought the nuc for Hackintosh. I only did that later, after I was reading about r/hackintosh and the nuc8 as a little side project :)
i’m all-in on apple (iphone xs, ipad air, ipad, macbookpro, 2x atv), so the imac makes sense for me.
i’m perfectly aware that...
Thank you spotssy. Best of luck with your health first, nucintosh second!
I was only able to select vega 48 over 580. 5700 was not an option.
Note: its an imac, not an imac pr
Note2: its the same on apple.com. Imac can be upgraded to vega48 and imac pro to vega 64 or 64X (from 56)
So in a few days I will receive fully specced (i9, vega48, 64gb which I upgrade myself) iMac from Apple so I will say goodbye to my nucintosh .
It was a short but interesting time into the hackintosh scene for me and learned a thing or two .
The main thing for me is that you will never get it...
For some reason last few days when I wake up my nuc I see an error my system restarted because of wake issue.. I don't know why, it worked for a few weeks without any issue.
So I took the time to make a custom USB SSDT for the NUC8. I was preparing myself for a long evening but wow was that an easy job! The reading took longer then executing. I did it a second time and it took me literly 5minutes... And best of all it seems to work work very well:
- first of all...
would you be able to guide me to the right direction how I could check if it's related to "usb port limit patch" and how I can create a custom usb kext?
I'm still not quite sure what the difference is between a kext and a ssdt also..
Actually I have been using the M.2 BT/Wifi card for weeks without issues but without the 2-wire cable for the BT part of it (was waiting for the parts and didn't get around soldering the wires). So I was just using the Wi-Fi part of it combined with a BT dongle and all the continunity stuff...
Yeah, installation went perfectly fine they way you describe (doing it like this myself all the time). But now I ise the internal broadcom BT chip over the BT dongle I’m having some issues with sleep which I’m trying to resolve. I really want to use this BT over the dongle as it is much better...
I called victory to soon.. this morning I came to know my pc restarted due to sleep issues and after the restart I have similar symptoms as before:
Any suggestions?
He's indeed idle for quite some time now..
I succesfully installed Catelina (latest, downloaded from app store) from USB with BT working. Need to check stability etc (reboot, sleep). Currently installing all software (which goes quite quick with homebrew)
Edit:
First reboot: everything still...
Thanks, I replaced the ACPI folder but didn't work.. I'm now going to replace the whole EFI.
Fyi: post #1582 spottsy mentioned he clean installed Catelina directly from usb.
Edit: with your efi + patched acpi + some personal tweaks to clover.plist it’s now installing catelina directly from...
