Hmm, I'll give the patch a try. For what it's worth, 3440x1440, 60hz, 32-bit color works just fine in Windows. I tried 50Hz in OSX over DP and it was still a crash. Will report back with the patch!

No go on either, still panic. I connected the NUC to my LG 1080p TV using mini HDMI and it works ok without crashing, so it must be either the displayport or the Dell monitor. I'll try a mini DP to HDMI adapter on the TV, but if that works, I guess it's the Dell's fault. *EDIT* Further...
