I assumed this may be the problem, I mostly posted just in case someone else has a problem with this so they could troubleshoot efficiently. The original poster may want to try a different DVD rom as well.

I'm having a similar problem. I used to be able to install just fine, but now when I boot from the SL retail DVD, the monitor goes to sleep when it is done loading. The only thing I changed on the computer is the disk drive.

i got it to sleep with dsdt, but now it does not wake up. i selected the three options in energy saver.

sleep still doesnt work for me. computer shuts down instead.

Is sleep working?

The only way I was able to get sleep to work was to not use dsdt at all and use easybeast

Ok I installed sleepenabler.kext but still nothing. I still can't even turn off my monitor. anything i can do to fix at least that? when i boot from the tonymacx86-iBoot cd i can turn the display off. am i just choosing the wrong drivers?

sleepenabler.kext gives me kernel panic

what steps did you take to install? did you change any bios settings? sleep isnt working for me. if i turn off my monitor i dont get any video when i turn it back on.

Yes, S3 is enabled. if i boot using the tony boot cd i can turn off my monitor and turn it back on and get video, but still no sleep. when i been back into SL using chameleon i cant turn off my monitor or get sleep.

delete legacyhda.kext, thats how i got it work work. in my extra/extensions i have fakesmc.kext jmicronata.kext and nvenabler 64.kext. ethernet works using the rt1000.kext on multibeast. is nvenabler 64.kext needed?

Sleep didnt work for me. If i turn off my monitor, i can't get video when i turn it back on (says no input). when i sleep my computer it turns off and when it is turned back on i get no video.
