so, I just realized 2 things. 1. If I wait 10-20 seconds after the login screen shows up, I get BT control over the keyboard, which is nice but it still means that I can't get into the BIOS with it. 2. My logitech m570 trackball mouse works - I can control it when the boot screen comes up...
