    Combining GTX 5xx and 6xx/7xx

That's not necessarily true. I successfully ran a 9600GT and GTX 550ti under Lion using EFI strings. OSX loaded the proper kexts for each card, as seen in verbose boot. I don't know how different GPUs work under 10.9, but I'm willing to bet that given the proper EFI strings, a Fermi and...

NVIDIA Web Drivers for 10.9.x Mavericks Found!

10.9.1/2 Web Drivers Does this also fix the power management issue on the 6xx and 7xx series cards?

OOB compatible GTX 760 - running 4 displays concurrently!

How are things working 5 days in? Any freezes (a la Fermi Freeze) or glitching UI effects? Does power management work OOB/via AGPM edits? Getting tired of my 560's pulling 200W from the wall at idle and freezing daily, if a 760 will drive my four displays reliably in 10.9.1 I will buy one...

    Can't update my profile info

Trying to update my profile info (the little system blurbs under my avatar) and I can't save changes. I get an error about an "Invalid MSN handle," or something to that effect, but there is NO FIELD FOR MSN NAMES on the profile edit page! Confusing indeed. Definitely something going on here.

Hackintosh faster with less dock icons?

I have around 60 icons, and my Hack is screaming fast, all the time. Maybe it's my quad i5 and RAID0'd SSDs, or maybe there's something wrong with your Hack...

Eerie Blue Glow. My second G5 Mod

If I can offer you one bit of advice, TEST your custom SATA harness! Use a multimeter, or a small junk HD with no data on it. I FUBAR'd almost $350 worth of drives and lost a few weeks of data last March because I had two wires backwards, and was in a hurry.

    Modding iSight to USB...help

I think that the G5 iSight module used a FireWire interface to the computer, not a USB interface. I'm mainly going off of the fact that the connector looks like a 4-pin mini FireWire 400 connector. However, given the wire colors, it could also be USB. I'd be curious to have a look in System...

Apple Internal SD Card Slot. Working

I purchased the SD slot from a 21.5" iMac, but its wire colors are different. See the attached photo. I have Purple-White-Orange-Grey-Brown-Black. Should I just modify the working pinout from this page, substituting my wire colors?

    cool hackintosh names

I named mine PowerHac i5. It's housed in a modded PowerMac G5 case, so the name fits well. :D

How much did it really cost… To Build your Hacintosh and was

I'll play along with this one. My build thread is here: viewtopic.php?f=76&t=32326 Go to page 2 to see the changes I made this past weekend. My Hack is built in a modded G5 case. Why? I love Apple's design. I have a MacBook Air and a Pro, and would never consider buying an X86 laptop. My...

    cnrtechhead's "PowerHac G5"

I said earlier that I'd post a pic of the back, so I am here to deliver. Description, as copied from Flickr: Here we have a crappy, iPhone-flash-lit photo of the back of my PowerHac, with all cables plugged back in. You can see the blue 120mm Prolimatech fan behind the fan grille and my...

    cnrtechhead's "PowerHac G5"

Thanks for the compliments! You lost way more drives than I did, that had to suck. How much data did you lose? I only lost a few things from the 20 days since I moved my home folder off my server and onto the 1TB drive in the machine. My laziness in not deleting the server folder saved me here...

    cnrtechhead's "PowerHac G5"

Thanks for the compliments and sympathy, guys. It's appreciated. I put a lot of time and thought into my mod, and I'm rather proud of it. I've got a replacement SSD ordered from Newegg. I grabbed a Crucial M4 128GB drive after reading some reviews that put it above the Vertex III I was using in...
