It's probably best to keep reading honestly. If you have specific questions, post it and someone can try to help. I actually asked the exact same questions you're asking so just read through the thread. It's a lot of pages but it's also a lot of repeated questions. You have no idea how many...
That's right. These aren't standard kext files. They're kext patches. You need to refer to the airport v2 thread for more details on there two kext patches. Essentially you need to use Xcode to modify the clover configuration plist to add these kext patches.
FYI, I also get the reboot during shutdown every now and then... I haven't looked into why but I just press the power button during POST to fully shut down.
I would not mix any BT patch with Broadcom_bluetooth.kext. Either don't do any BT patch and use only the broadcom_bluetooth.kext or remove broadcom_bluetooth.kext and use the BT patches as defined in the airport v2 thread.
Good luck
I'll remove it and see what happens...
EDIT: rebooting... seems like it worked. Oh damn.. Handoff works now!!!! YAY!!!
For some reason, removing the port via SSDT seems more "permanent". I was excluding the port prior to the SSDT patch so I just kept it that way. I'll adjust it so I...
I should also point out that I wrote a lot of this from memory so there's potential for errors... Let me know if you need clarification of any step since it's all quite high level.
Thanks,
Hey guys,
just wanted to put down some of my experiences with getting OS X running on my Thinkpad X220.
As most X220 users probably know, there's an awesome well put together guide for el capitan install on X220 @ x220.mcdonnelltech.com. Mad props to John for providing guidance to a newb like...
Thanks! I've taken a look at the SSDT-UIAC-all.dsl and identified all the used USB ports on my laptop. I'll remove the ports that are not used
A few more questions ;)
1) do I also remove the other 8086_1e31, 8086_8xxx,8086_9xxx,8086_9cb1,8086_a12f, 8086_9d2f sections? I'm assuming these...
Sorry for another round of newb questions.. What do I use to customize the .dsl file? just a text/xml editor? and what tool do I use to save it as an .aml file? MacASL (https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-MaciASL-patchmatic)?
Thanks again...
I tried F4 via clover but it never wrote anything.. in anycase, since that's not really needed, What exactly do I do with the modified SSDT-UIAC-ALL.dsl file? I thought that file needs to be recompiled into a new .aml file?
Thanks,
Okay.. So I read through the patching laptop DSDT/SSDT thread. I got as far as extracting the SSDTs using patchmatic but disassembly via iasl fails or it's writing files somewhere I'm not aware of.
I think i'm well over my head at this point... Am i going in the right direction or have I...
Yes, I tend to try a lot of different things and that certainly makes it more confusing when it suddenly works... BTW, you mentioned in the past that to avoid confusion between two BT devices, I could disable the USB port that the undesirable BT device is connected to. Can you elaborate on...
Hey RehabMan, the question was more of a hypothetical question... If the device doesn't get listed in ioreg, then there's no amount of kexting/patching that will suddenly make it appear right?
FYI, I was able to get the AW-CE123H BT adapter working after futzing around with hardware... Trial...
