One quick follow up - Should I expect to need fewer Kexts that I used to have?
My current config includes:
AppleALC.kext
AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext
FakeSMC_ACPISensors.kext
FakeSMC_CPUSensors.kext
FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext
FakeSMC_LPCSensors.kext
FakeSMC_SMMSensors.kext

Thanks for the pointers - I have a second NVME drive that I plan to install on in case I need a quick revert to existing.
I'll start looking into building that Ventura USB w/OpenCore.
I'm a bit out of date - Thinking about upgrading - is there a best place to start?
I have a Gigabyte Z370 AORUS Gaming 7, running Mojave at the moment. Been working great, but thinking I should upgrade and get more current. I suppose the good news is that it's been working well enough that...
I know this is an old thread, but did this ever get resolved? I'm just now running into a similar problem. Audio seems to work everywhere except for Audacity.
>> No drivers. I tried to do a very 'clean' install. Have had to check kexts and stuff, but only within EFI.
My only sniglet right now is the sound... it works fine, but my line-out is labeled 'headphones'. I've not had a chance to chase that down yet.
If you're worried about heat with this case, there's a few videos out on YouTube on how to improve things a bit. Some have created custom panels and drilled out the front panel.

So far I've only just gotten OSX installed, I have to figure out MultiBeast and Clover tomorrow...
Killer is the 2nd ethernet port. That much I know... I don't know if/how it is better than the other Intel port.
I just booted this baby up for the first time, just enough to see that I have to update BIOS to get current. But, duty calls, so probably tomorrow for the rest.
Thanks... is the Killer significantly different?
Also, which of the M2 ports are we using for the NMVe drives? The documentation on these is a little bit confusing to me.
It took me a couple of days of going down review rabbit holes, but I finally picked and got everything ordered and if...
Oh, that's a good suggestion. I'm not sure why but I'd somehow gotten to thinking the difference was not that great and I like the idea of having a small-ish boot drive so that I can easily back it up and swap it for another when doing a big upgrade. A difference that big is enough to make me...
Hi,
I'm looking to build a new Hack... I'm starting to settle on a parts list and figured I'd ask for opinions.
I'm not quite at 'cost is no object' but I'm wanting to go for a fairly high-performance system.
Here's what I've got so far:
CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor...
