Wow a lot of reading and I am a very long way away from understanding.
I had hoped that by using the components specified on this site, following UniBeast and Multibeast it would have been a little easier than this. Phew.
Not moaning, observing.
I was kind of hoping that someone else had done...
I am googling ‘how to ssdt for usb config’ now. There is a lot to read up on.
I am using the Efi.zip from https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...lent-ga-z370n-i5-8400-16gb-500gb-nvme.247619/
@pastrychef ok my ignorance is both broad and deep on this matter....
See attached USB Device Tree - The mobo supports 1 x USB C, 6 x USB 3.1 and 2 x USB2/1.1 on an internal USB Header
Looking through the BIOS settings not a great deal of options relating to USB configuration.
What Am I...
@pastrychef Thanks -
BT - I just installed the CM943360CS2 into the adapter into the m2 slot previously occupied by the original mobo BT/wifi card.
QUESTION - how do I force the BT to connect to a particular USB port?
I am using the Aerials provided with the mobo - I'll try different ones...
Unfortunately the CM943360CS2 is not doing the job.
The BT works for about 10 minutes after boot, then degrades to the point of no longer working, Apple Trackpad and Keyboard stop working and lose connection over BT so I've had to connect directly over lightning cables.
The wifi - which is in...
CM943360CS2 installed
Removed the bt/Wi-Fi on the motherboard connected through a “secret” m2 connector.
Had to add new pigtails to connected wifi antennas.
But all up and running Wi-Fi and bt, Apple new bt keyboard, trackpad and AirPods all working.
I am seeing some ‘skittiness’ in the...
Hey to cap this off.
I am sooooo impressed with this Hackintosh
It goes to sleep wakes up no issues, ALL 9 USB ports work well including the USB C!
iMessages work (albeit a bit oddly) but hoping that the installation of BCM94360CS2 will help settle that and the BT/Wifi
Need to look at why...
Thanks for these photos it has helped greatly - Can you confirm that you were able to drop in an M2 adapter to plug in the BCM94360CS2 and the existing RP SNA pigtail antenna were MHL-4 connectors that were able to clip onto the BCM94360CS2?
ie do I need to by replacement MHL-4 pigtail antenna?
Actually there may be a third m2 port under the wifi/bt card
I'm just reading
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/new-gigabyte-z370n-no-more-wifi-support.235348/
now
Doh!!!!
That pesky MHL /MHL-4 bait and switch ..........
Darn it... ordered two MHL-4 pigtails... the ones that are on the mobo are wired into the BT/Wifi device sitting on the mobo.
I am pretty sure the built in wifi/bt is soldered into mobo and not a hidden m2 port.
The m2 connector on the...
Hi
Again - any ideas/thoughts would be helpful - thanks.......
I have the machine all up and running thanks to @feartech & @pastrychef
The BCM943360CS2 and m2 adapter have arrived so ready for the next step.
Preparation
1. I have backed up the EFI folder on the EFI Partition
2. Full...
