[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

I upgraded to Ventura 13.1 today, from 13.01. No issues so far. I have a BOXNUC8i5BEK1 with 4 GB memory, 512GB NVMe. This is the short version.

Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF mod use WiFi+BT combo with external USB

Dell Optiplex 9010 MT mod use GPU covered PCIe 1x slot <Link>. I did do this on a 9010 MT.

Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF mod use WiFi+BT combo with external USB

A lot better solution than I had posted, which required trimming and sanding the ribbon cable of the adapter! A no-brainer choice!

Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF mod use WiFi+BT combo with external USB

That looks really promising. I might order one to test out the clearances. I'll let you know if I do.

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

Well shoot. I have a BCM943602CS and an adapter which I borrowed from my working HP 6300 USDT, HOWEVER, I only now realized that there is no internal USB on the Optiplex 9020 USFF. Drat. Now I need to drill a hole and run a cable to the outside and connect to one of the USB 2.0 ports on the...

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

The boot messages are still coming up, even after removing the Azurewave card, so maybe they were always there? Anyone have an idea what those are? Is it an issue?

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

Bummer. I've tried to look for a supported list for Monterey. Is there one? mini-pcie of course I am familiar with the MT and SFF PCIe list. UPDATE: seems the BCM943602CS is available, and I'll need an adapter to mini-pcie. I'll give that a go.

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

I have a surprise problem that I need some help with. I reported a nicely working USFF on Monterey. However, I just just moved over a working half-size mini-pcie WiFi+BT AW CB160H, which was working fine in my 9010 USFF under Mojave+Clover. As it is a supported/native card, I was fully...

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

Well, I made it. Monterey installed, and updated too. Really appreciate all the work @trs96 puts into these guides. In this case I think I thought "I know what to do" and instead I really needed to focus and pay attention. Went smoothly and I'm happy with the results. Thanks.

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

It's all good. I am confessing to being humbled :-). I need to read and learn! New question, to me, the guide seems to be saying I need to install Catalina, and upgrade to Big Sur and/or Monterey. Is that only for a certain path (ie those without macs/hackintoshs)? Second question, I don't...

Dell Optiplex 7020/9020 using OpenCore + Intel HD4600 or AMD graphics

I am starting my install today using this guide. I don't have Windows installed on this USFF; it came with a wiped 500GB drive. I got stumped for a bit trying to follow the guide at the point to generate a SmUUID. I have a working hackintosh, and the guide suggests using the .dmg of OCAT as...

[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

Hi, coming late to the "refresh" game. I have a NUC8i5BEK1 that I originally set up on Clover using this (Rehabman) guide. I see @Leesureone has posted EFI for various OC releases, however, I am wondering if they are appropriate for my i5? I'm going to install fresh on a separate drive, with...

What is your oldest Hackintosh still in use?

Oh, how did I forget my HP 8300 Elite USDT! I did that one based on your guide as well! It is currently running Mojave/Clover and I am using in my little corner of our utility room as a general machine AND running OctoPrint for my 3D printer! (A Creality Ender 3). I have maxed out that...

What is your oldest Hackintosh still in use?

My first/oldest hackintosh is on an Intel NUC7, using Rehabmans' guides. I have it mounted to the VESA mounts on the back of a 32" Viewsonic monitor, so a "stealth" HackiMac, if you will. It is now running Catalina/Clover. My oldest hardware would be the Optiplex 9010, using @trs96 guide...

Can I use LVDS/eDP to drive macOS?.

I have repaired three of these monitors and used this very video as a guide to repair a failed backlight. I replaced the entire led strips as they had failed and not just the connector. GET and use the suction cups. The glass is fragile, yet obviously doable. Don’t touch the glass of the...
