Ahh, I see.

You could try to delete the Nvidia folder located in /Library/Application Support/, and see if that solve the problem, and your are able to boot Yosemite again.

My suggestion nv_disable=1, was not an option ?

Assumed this was tested.
Unfortunately it was not the solution for me, since I only got a white screen regardless of the boot flags I try to use.

The solution for me was to repair disk permissions.

Interesting point, I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere (and I'm looking). Do you have a reference/example for this, and isn't SST limited at 30Hz ?

SST is limited to one monitor but supports 4k@60Hz just fine.
Perhaps we will see a descent driver someday for 10.10.2 or 10.10.3 that works as good as 343.01.02f03 on 10.10.1

Hey everybody, I'm back. Sorry for the delay. This I will be a little long winded.

I tried the various suggestions with flags. Nada. I manually pulled the Nvidia drivers. Nope. Repaired Yosemite permissions via Kext Wizard on Mavericks. Nothing. Then a happy accident.

I had been booting Clover via a USB thumb drive, by selecting it at each boot. Then tried booting Chameleon from my boot drive as normal. That was failing too. BUT I was leaving the thumb drive in when I tried Chameleon. Removing the drive allowed me to boot Chameleon. I then reinstalled the Nvidia drivers and repaired permissions. All seems well with Yosemite and Chameleon, even with the thumb drive inserted (not selected) at boot.

Now it's just Clover that is still giving me the USBMSC issue when trying to boot from the thumb drive. I'd be willing to say it's some other issue, but it did happen when updating the drivers...

I'm going to start investigating other causes and solutions. I don't want to derail this thread any more. My issues may have been caused by doing the Nvidia update, but not by the specific kext(s). Just the fact that kexts were changed. Does that make sense?

Now Clover gets past the USBMSC error goes a bit further and then reboots before I see the Apple logo.

And now I'm back to thinking it's the new drivers, my old GTX260 and Clover.

Correct, but on previous Nvidia driver releases it does also not appear, that they were compatible with for example GTX 980, but it works anyway. I use Nvidia 343.02.02f02 for my GTX 470, 570 and 980.

But only this release has given some small update problems, for me at least.

Well there you go. Thanks, Pilgrim.

Weird it totally works with Chimera / Chameleon.

In trying to fix everything, I got Yosemite up and stable, so I overwrote my Mountain Lion with a Yosemite backup.

Can I just download the previous Nvidia installer version and use it to "roll back"?
