Hey @Jay
I have a problem with my Sony SE laptop. I currently set the mission control with four-finger roll up. Sometimes, when I reboot the computer, the four-finger roll up lose it function and turned to act as "go up" function like its default function and I can't change it. Do you have same issue?

@rchen29,

I've never used four finger gestures on the SE's so I can't really comment ... however i would ensure that you have the latest version of rehabmans kext installed :-

https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-voodoo-ps2-controller/downloads

I believe that you set/re-set the gesture in the keyboard shortcuts sys pref's

@SgtRoswell,
...
Update: After updating to 10.10.2 - I've had to use new patches to enable the 5Ghz WiFi - strangely i've lost 2.4Ghz channels 12 & 13 again - Since i'm not using those it's not really an issue for me but it would be good to get everything working again so maybe the Firmware mod may still be the way to go ....

Thank you for your detailed response. How about this http://www.osxlatitude.com/rebranding-broadcom-802-11abgn-cards-as-airport-extreme/ for a starting point? Note that I'm just only concerned with the changing the country code.

I still use my old 2.4 Ghz router and it throws 12 13 channels as per my region so I'm need of it anyway.

Regards,

Hello,

First I want to thank you for this great guide of installing Hackingtosh on Sony VPC. I've got model VPCSB and did strictly what is said in your instruction. My screen resolution is 1366x758. Cause I'm totally Hackingtosh noobie I skipped creating my own DSDT file and used CyberWalrus DSDT_1366x768.aml from http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...332-guide-mac-os-10-8-sony-vaio-sa-sb-se.html. I managed to install the OSX and booted into it. It seems that most things works pretty well, like display, touchpad. But there are some problems like battery status and mostly no audio device.

As I started to read thru different sites I realized that the problem is probably with DSDT file. So I tried to create my own. I used different methods to accoplish this using guides: https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch/wiki/How-to-patch-your-DSDT and http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-laptop-support/152573-guide-patching-laptop-dsdt-ssdts.html
I tried with Read-Write Everything in Windows, acpidump and cp -R /sys/firmware/acpi/tables in Linux. All gave me the same DSDT file, but the last method also gave me SSDT files. I managed to resolve all compile errors in DSDT. Than tried to use RehabMan patches, as suggested:
"Fix _WAK Arg0 v2"
"HPET Fix"
"SMBUS Fix"
"IRQ Fix"
"RTC Fix"
"OS Check Fix"
"Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel"
"Fix PNOT/PPNT"
"Add IMEI"
"6-series USB"
On this stage the file compile without any errors but OSX with this DSDT file boots and only display black screen. So I need to patch it with JayMonkey EDID data for 1366 x 768 Display. The problem is that after patching there is error during compile: Code 6084 - Object does not exist (DTGP). If I delete this line with DTGP it compiles without error but it boots with black screen. Would someone be some kind and help me with this? I'm attaching my original extracted DSDT/SSDT files and also one DSDT with above listed patches. Could someone look at it and tell me how to correct it.

Best regards

@skink,

Pretty straight forward to fix ... sounds like your missing the DTGP Method, simply add it to your DSDT using the 'Insert DTGP' patch in the default souceforge repo

If you haven't got the Sourceforge repo add the following URL to your repos in preferences :-

Code:
http://maciasl.sourceforge.net

The DTPG method is used by quite a few older patches, its not an issue and works as just well as patches that do not relay on the DTPG method, it's just not optimal by current standards.

I am using Chimera but want to update to Clover. I have enabled UEFI in hacked bios but I don't see UEFI partition. I read your guide but couldn't see how you created your EFI partition in the first place. I will appreciate if you can explain this.

PS: Another thing is Intel 3000 causes so many artifacts after some time and after a while, it hangs. I can still move the mouse but can't do anything else. After the restart I check the console and I see lots of

2/2/15 8:15:47.000 PM kernel[0]: **** Debug info for *possible* hang in MAIN graphics engine ****
Is there a solution for this?

That did the trick. Thank you very much. Now I've got working display. Hurray. I also used your patches: Fix Device HDEF and Set to Fixed Single Battery Mode. Now sound and battery all works ok. I'm attaching my working DSDT file for VPCSB.

I'm having one issue still. I'm using docking station and have no display on second screen. Could you tell me what should I change?

Best regards

Hey, Jay
Thanks for your guide. I successfully updated my sony laptop to YOSEMITE. But I suffered a problem, after I patched the config in EFI clover, I reboot the system and disable the USB Legacy. Then it reboot to the clover, I click my YOSEMITE system disk, it appeared balckscreen with white apple logo, then it reboot itself. I tried lots of times and it alway reboot itself. However, when I enable the USB Legacy and boot with the unibeast disk, it can log in to the system. So, do you know why this happened?

I also ran into the problem and the system reboot after the while apple logo. In my case the laptop was connected with an external monitor using HDMI port. I pulled out the HDMI cable and the system booted fine. Then I changed the Clover's Dual Link to 0 in the graphics section. The system then booted fine with external monitor.

@skink,

Glad your making good progress, unfortunately I have no experience with the Sony Docking Station so really cant help you with any certainty. I would suspect that it's implemented as a 2nd port on the intel HD3000 controller, but the Sony 'S' GPU switching method is totally bespoke so i have no idea what it does with a dock. As a guess i would suspect that you need to change the patching in GPU Frame buffer kext ('AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB').

I Originally patched Mavericks for VGA & HDMI Audio using this guide :-

http://www.osxlatitude.com/how-to-enable-vga-and-hdmi-on-intel-hd-3000/

You'll have to do a bit of research ... but you may find an answer

Good Luck
Cheers
Jay
