Hey all,
I upgraded to Yosemite without much changes between Mavericks (nor Mountain Lion). I'm fully operational!
The only things I had to worry about were, again, Bluetooth and Audio because of my modified kexts. Because Yosemite will NOT allow unsigned/modified kexts to load naturally, any kexts that you have that are tweaked/hacked/etc will not work. So you can get around this by making sure to disable signing of all kext files. Warning: not the most secure option, but everyone's doing it. I did this by adding to org.chameleon.boot.plist:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>kext-dev-mode=1</string>
For further information, please see the thread [Work In Progress] Lenovo Z580 ML Installation.

A newer thread specific to Mavericks should also be referenced: Lenovo Z580 Mav Installation

Side note: I'm having the same problems with iMessage not working, so if you want/need iMessage, refer to other sources BEFORE upgrading to Yosemite. It'll probably be a Clover install. I don't really use it on my laptop, so I didn't use it.
