Guide To Install Yosemite on HP Laptops with Clover UEFI

Please note your labels for the keys are wrong. Fn is Fn (special purpose key on PC keyboards). Ctrl is Control. It is not laid out like a Mac keyboard for two reasons. Reason 1: Apple got it wrong :). Reason two: it is not usually possible to change the purpose of Fn on PC hardware (it is not a "real" key, but rather changes the codes sent by other keys when held down).

Thanks! I'll redo.

Working build: HP ProBook 4540s, i5-3230M, Intel HD 4000

I current have a 1366x768 display. I would like to upgrade to 1920x1080 if that's possible.

What is the issue you have with screen resolution? If you selected the correct options, you should have 1366x768. Do a search to find guides for replacing the screen.

Another issue I've run into is the SD slot. An inserted card does not mount, and when I look at it using Disk Utility, the drive name is wrong, and the partition name is disk1s1, also wrong. Is there something I can do to get the SD slot working correctly?

The card reader works if you insert a compatible card. The driver is very old and not all cards are supported. Try to use cards that are 16GB or smaller. Also, the card must have file system on it that is recognized by OS X.

Native resolution 1366x768 is working great. I'm interested in replacing the display with 1920x1080. I'll do some searching.

Thanks for the info on the SD. I was trying to use a 32 GB SanDisk Extreme. Apparently too hot for the older driver.

Happy New Year everyone!

I have noticed the new release of the Config.zip includes a config.plist for 6x60-8x60p 1600x900 with AMD, is this now a supported configuration. I ask as I replaced my AMD graphics system board with an HD 3000 based version to get OS X working, but would ideally like to switch back to discrete graphics. Please can you confirm support?

Hi.
Successfully installed Yosemite on ProBook 6460b using this guide.
After installation do official upgrade to 10.10.1 without any problem.
Thx, guys

P.S.
I want to say next:
1) Battery lives longer on Mavericks. In Yosemite I have only ~1 hour office work from battery.
2) ProBook was cooler on Mavericks.

Hi all.

thx Rehabman for your solution concerning EC Reset, i did it but had the same issues with crazy mouse and reboot after few hours of use.

there is anything to do or just EC Reset everytime ??

Any Kext update ?

Thanks

Soufiane

Did you forget to generate an SSDT?

Check your system.log for errors related to PS2.

Have you tried a fresh install?

Thanks for the awesome guide. I've managed to get Yosemite up and running on my HP 9470m with little / no issues (apart from Wifi of course).

I'm now trying the same with an old HP Elitebook 8560w which I believe is running Nvidia graphics. Before I embark on this journey I'm just wondering which of the config files to use (or do I need to build one myself)?

I've tried installing Mavericks via http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/6536-hp-elitebook-8560w/ but that doesn't seem to work. I'm going to try via Unibeast as well but TBH I much prefer to use the same method I did for my other laptop as it seems to work.

Any help would be much appreciated
