Installation Guide : Intel Haswell NUC Core i5 (D54250WYK) V2

I will be stuffing my NUC inside an iMac G4 and probably hooking up the audio out to internal speaker and mic, meaning that it would be "permanently" connected. Is there a change to the audio setup we can make to have DisplayPort audio take priority over internal audio when it is plugged in?

Good evening all, I've finally taken the wrapper off the latest version of the guide, covering installation of OS X 10.9.5.

Great work man.. before I start and give this a shot.. can you detail in post #1 a suggested way to go around if wanting to do dual boot with Windows?? Don't want to start and again restart..

Hey!

I just tried out your new guide with Mavericks 10.9.5. I Followed every step carefully, but this error keeps coming up:

With "Graphics Mode"="1920x1080x32" flag

Without
Even without the "Graphics Mode"="1920x1080x32" flag it gives my this error.

Also when do I have to use Chimera (3.0.1)? It is not mentioned in the guide.

Can you help me?

Yes. Select DisplayPort output device as the default for sound effects and output in Sound Preferences.

The guide is not about dual-booting; there are several well written guides in the forums that you can use for that purpose.

The overview is quite simple though. When you partition your SSD, split it into 2 partitions; use 1 for OS X and 1 for Windows. *If* I was doing it, I would put OS X in the first partition, complete the setup and then put Windows in the 2nd partition. Since Windows takes over certain parts that we dont want it to, simply reboot with the Unibest Installer into Mavericks, and run the Chimera setup again to restore the bootloader.

To be sure I have done everything coorectly and all my devices are working accordingly, I will redownload OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 from the App Store, redownload all the software from you guide and use a new USB 3.0 stick. Also reread the whole guide ;)

I will keep you updated.

You actually answered my question with a question! I did more research, and it has to do with the version of the card I own not being supported with any version of Mac OS X --- not just MacBook Airs. Thanks!

After I removed one RAM stick from my NUC the installation succeeded.

Until the last bit of section 7, "You can now eject the Unibeast Installer and reboot the NUC.
When you reboot it, type in the following flags at the boot screen (This only needs to be done once) and press the Enter key :" When I rebooted I got another error:

I think this is a NUC error instead of a Mac OS X error (just a guess).
I have tried every combination with my 2 RAM sticks, but without luck :(. Also Google didn't help me at all.

Any ideas?
