Help with booting into Mavericks with Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7 G1, i7-4470K, GTX 760

Then, once I got to the Mavericks desktop (in safe mode), I "open(ed) System/Library/Extensions and delete(d) AppleHDA.kext" (thanks carpentryplus25!!) and restarted.
This is what fixed your problem be sure you repair permissions and rebuild kext cache for easy quick start up.
Red herring. Native (or patched) AppleHDA.kext does not have any effect on success or failure of boot. 9 series boot issues are caused by unsupported HD4600 graphics.

Install:
1. GraphicsEnabler=No
2. BIOS/Peripherals/Initial Display Output/PCIe
3. BIOS/Peripherals/Intel Processor Graphics/Disabled.

After successful install:
1. Install patched Azul, Quick Fix for Intel HD 4600 Graphics Acceleration on 9 Series Motherboards
2. IGPEnabler=Yes
3. BIOS/Peripherals/Initial Display Output/IGFX
2. BIOS/Peripherals/Intel Processor Graphics/Enabled

If you are not convinced, suggest BIOS/Peripherals/Audio Controller/Disabled. Removing kexts is not recommended and always results in a severly impaired install.

Copied it to the S/L/E folder, + Permission Repair-Rebuild cache combo with KextWizard.

I do not need to add "0x8cba8086" value to the IOPCIPrimaryMatch because that is already added to this version, is this correct?

Thank you,

pnimrod
No do not just copy it to that directory because it will not have the proper permissions to load use kext wizard installation tab then repair permissions and rebuild kext cache on the maintenance tab of kext wizard

Hey again, I just put a 4790k in my machine and the boot stops at "AppleKeyStore starting" and "FakeSMCKeyStore: started" even when I try to boot with -x and -x -f. This is my second reinstall and it runs smooth until I use MultiBeast(second gime with the default DSDTfree options). Please help. Thanks.

Hi toleda,

my build seems running stabile now, GB-Z97X Gaming7, i7 4700K, HD4600 (QE and all the 3D thing), AL1150, Killer LAN, 10.9.4. Everything is fine.
But.
I want to use my GeForce GTX750Ti. But I can't.
1. GTX in.
2. BIOS: IGFX -› Disabled, Graph init: PCIe 1.
3a. Boot with -v GraphicsEnabled=Yes
4a. Kernel panic, kextd

3b. Boot with -v -x GraphicsEnabled=Yes.
4b. System stops after that BluetoothInit-thing, in the middle of a text line with a white cursor.

Have you any suggestions?

Thank you,
pnimrod

Hi guys, I'm just checking in. I was surprised to come home from vacation (after one week) to find that my SSD was throwing errors when I was trying to boot up my Hack. Long story short- I had to reformat my SSD and start over (reinstall Mavericks and run TimeMachine). I actually had to go back and re-read this thread to get everything right :)

I ran into a lot of problems (example- graphicsenabler=no or =yes?), but finally got it stable.

My biggest tip is to just reboot whenever you get an error- this worked for me. It seemed to reset everything. Obviously, if you have to reboot more than twice, you have a bigger problem.

Lately, my only bug has been power management. Whenever I'd try to revive my Hackintosh after a few hours, it wouldn't respond. Less than 3 hours, it was fine (except Firefox would be frozen for about 5 minutes).

I find the setting that works for me under System Preferences/Energy Saver. Computer Sleep= 2 hours. Display Sleep=15 minutes. UNCHECK "Put hard disks to sleep when possible". I left "Wake for Ethernet network access" checked.

My computer wakes up every time now.

I hope this helps!

Hi Guys,

I posted a thread a few days ago about being unable to boot after mavericks install, stuck at the drmstatut error. So after reading this thread I think I have a stable system with my Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H, i5 4670K and EVGA GTX760 =)))

About the drmstatut error I just deleted the AppleHDA.kext and fixed the perms, after that the system was booting without any flags. For now I'm still trying to get audio working but it's working with my front jack. (I have a coolermaster 550 silencio). So now I seem to have an *almost* perfectly working system, thanks to this thread !

Thanks a lot guys !

Hey 500e, I am having the same issue with Firefox. Have you been able to resolve the freeze yet? Also, my mouse cursor jumps from time to time when moving across the screen, does anyone have any tips to resolve that?

Thanks to everyone in this thread that has provided help. (Carpentry...you have been awesome!) Because of you all I have gotten my GA Z97X-UD7 TH Hackintosh up and running almost completely. I still have to figure out this audio situation...I only have audio via my USB headset. I'm sure I'll figure out my speakers soon enough.

500e, I just wanted to thank you and the cumulative knowledge of everyone in this threat. I have a setup very similar and this made it possible for my system to be 99% functional.

Gigabyte Z97X Gaming 7
i7 4790 / 16gb Crucial / 240GB Force 3 SSD
MSI Frozr Nvidia GTX 770 2gb / Aune X1 Eternal Headphone Amplifier/DAC

The hardware above was setup with the help of this thread, brief guide below.

1) Create USB Installer from VMWARE Mavericks or MAC VIA Uni-beast.
2) Install From the USB Drive with default settings.
3) Reboot the system using the USB Drive to get into OSX for the first time, I did not need any boot flags.
4) Delete AppleHDA.kext from S/L/E, repair permissions, reboot.(I do not use the integrated audio).
5) With the package in this thread, launch Kext Helper, enter the administrator password, drag ALXEthernet.kext in the field, install, reboot.
6) Launch Network Preferences, my NIC already had shown up after the reboot and had a DHCP address assigned, works great.
7) Run Multi-beast with the options selected in the image I attached, its essentially what 500e recommends.
8) Reboot.
9) Run Chameleon Wizard, Install latest build only updating the boot loader, customize as you would
like, I used this solely to decrease my timeout on the boot menu, and the graphics resolution on the
boot loader.

Everything works, I don't use the onboard audio so that portion was irrelevant to me. Hope this adds to the pile of knowledge, figured id share my experience since this board is so new. I've built a few hackintoshes in the past, this one didn't seem to difficult, have faith!

Hi YoungMalcolm, I haven't been able to fix the Firefox slowness after waking up my Hack. Sometimes it's just quicker to just close it and open it again. Your mouse disappearing sometimes sounds like a video card issue. I'd look into that (I haven't had that problem, yet). And just FYI, my Hack has been waking up most of the time without problem, except for this morning, when I had to do a hard reboot. I guess we'll never know what causes this...

Sylveriemoon, thanks for the thanks! It seems everyone's system turns out a little bit differently. I just look up each little eccentricity and try to fix them one at a time.
