The "A" cards have BIOS like "80.10.36.00.01" The "B" cards have numbers like "80.00.80.00.21"

I "think" I might have found something out as well...

my ASUS GTX780 OC has this Part Number on its box: 90YV04H0-M0NA00

I did a google search of this and what I found was that this particular part number (along with one other) is the GK110-A version ("might be")

here's three links/search results:

...also is this only a problem is OSX or is it a problem is Windows as well?

You got lucky and got an old stock GK110A version of the Titan. All newer stock uses the GK110B GPU. People reading this should not count on getting a GK110A out of a Titan at this time.

Also on the ASUS website it states this:

ASUS GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II graphics cards feature an ASUS-designed PCB and a completely new look for the DirectCU II cooler, as well as DIGI+ VRM digital power delivery and robust Super Alloy Power components. Its the GK110-400 which is the B version/revision, not the GK110-300 which is the A version (am I right? - Im pretty certain on that but tbh not 100%)

While you might be correct about this, there is a good chance there is not and will never be a rev B for TITAN. TITAN uses it's own stack/release of the GK110 with better FP64 support and a number of cores enabled that is different than any other version of the chip. It is a fairly low volume part and there simply may never be a B rev done to it. Unless we hear of any reports of someone getting a rev B TITAN, it is the safest card to get right now if you need OpenCL support and want GK110 performance.

Wouldnt that be true for ASUS GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5 as well?

They do have this on their website:

"ASUS GeForce® GTX 780 DirectCU II graphics cards feature an ASUS-designed PCB and a completely new look for the DirectCU II cooler, as well as DIGI+ VRM digital power delivery and robust Super Alloy Power components. *also sorry for the multiple posts, I will stop here :p

I think this answers my question(s)

"Just a small update: Going forward all newly created GTX 780 and Titan series cards from all vendors will be using the GK110B (GK-300-B1 stepping) GPU. For the 780 series this means that you may or may not get an A1 card due to current stock still being sold. In other words, it's a crapshoot. As for the 780 Ti, all of those use the GK110B GPU and thus should be avoided until a driver update is made to fix the problem.

All other Kepler standalone cards are still fully compatible with OS X and OpenCL, as they use the GK104 GPU which has not received an update like the GK110 GPU has."

GK-300 doesnt only refer to GK110 A (refers to B as well)

sorry again for the multiple posts - unless this info has changed please let me know!

I still think their might be relevance/a correlation here between Part Number 90YV04H0-M0NA00, and GK110-300-A1

Comments, opinions, knowledge appreciated!

I found the following info.
Revision A seems to have a label like this, but I'm not sure if it is possible to see it from the outside:
GK-110-300-A1
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b2119/msi-gtx-780-gaming-oc.html

The Rev. B:
GK-110-300-B1
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b2592/msi-gtx-780-gaming-oc.html

I'm just building my first one, and as a last minute update I decided to go with the MSI 780 Gaming instead of the 770. Didn't check if it was supported. I hope there'll be an update sooner or later.
I'll probably see tomorrow which revision I have, as I'll get back to building it.

Does this problem also affect Premiere CS6?

good question... if your going to be using PP it does run on Windows as well. Later on if Im able to hackintosh a separate HD Ill install FCPX, Motion, and Garage Band. But for now Pro Tools, PP and AE all run on Windows so for the time being there's no need for me to use OSX. Maybe later though! Would be nice!

So.. can anyone confirm. 10.9.1 working or not? I read this whole thing and everyone just says 10.9 but not 10.9.1. Was it resolved?
