No GPU Power Managment

Still not showing... I'm telling you it's not there, AGPM is not even loaded

Its not showing because i think you are in the wrong folder. Inside the AGPM.kext is a Contents folder, inside there is the Info.plist.

Mine AGPM wasn't loading too until i've started to activate the X86PlatformPlugin by building an ssdt.aml file for my processor. See the link in my last posting how to build such an file for your system. It isn't very difficult.

This problem is unique to Mavericks.

using 10.8.5 Mountain Lion - I get *perfect* GPU speed states with *zero* effort on my part (beyond a standad install using chimera, etc.)

Using Mavericks, after a few reboots - something happens and my GPU becomes permanently stuck at full throttle upon reboot.

 No i was in the right folder, see other screenshotScreen Shot 2013-11-11 at 8.51.20 AM.png

and I never had to do all the ssdt stuff to have proper speedstep and gpu power management before.
If I reboot and run Heaven Benchmark for example my GPU throttles up and down like it should, and my cpu has around 6 or 7 speedsteps... no really sure what is happening here.

This is indeed very strange. So i suggest you use the AGPM.kext kokopellix in one of his postings:

Inside this AGPM.kext is for 100% sure the Info.plist file :)

This problem also happens in ML, after opening Photoshop the GPU is again stuck at 1Ghz. It's just that Mavericks is a bit more extreme.

Does anybody with a edited AGPM kext have full flash video decoding of off the dedicated GPU? Always getting a lockup with a sysdef other that MacPro3,1 (without edited kext).

when I do dmesg

it showed up
[AGPM Controller] build GPUDict by Vendor10deDevice11c2

I am assuming the AGPM kext is loaded fine with my GPU Nvidia 650 Ti Boost.

But, it has no affect on my GPU clock at all. It's still run at 1.03GHz all the time. Never run less than that clock value.

Any idea?

It's probably fair to say that we've now established that the Mavericks problem with the GPU not clocking down is not related to AGPM kext.

On the one hand we have reports (like the one quoted here) saying that AGPM loads and activates but the GPU doesn't clock down. I can confirm that for my system, too, by the way.

On the other hand many of us had their GPUs clock down in ML without AGPM loading. I went as far as confirming with a power meter on the wall that power consumption on my machine returned to idle levels under ML even when AGPM wasn't active.

By all means, let's help each other get AGPM kext loading and activated, but just don't expect that to the be the solution to the new problem in Mavericks.

...other point, i can´t understand that not more users with Nvidia 6xx/7xx GPU´s asking about the clocking problem or tell their solutions,
probably most of them didn´t even notice that there´s a bug.

Ok, another weird Thing happenend to me. I was able to get the AGPM.kext to be loaded when i choose smbios macpro 5,1 or macmini 5,1. Ok, i thought: now try to inject your graphic into info.plist of agpm.kext (vendor 10de device 1189, gtx 670). But after editing and rebooting, the Screen stays black ! Anyone a conclusion of what is ahppening ?

Bravo. Maybe one of the 10.9.x updates that came out last week will fix us.
