Yes, Sandy Bridge systems require a DSDT to work correctly. Get the correct one from the Downloads > DSDT Database.

Sleep/wake-up working correctly because it needs a DSDT.

Speed step (power management) is working because MultiBeast has a SSDT for Sandy Bridge systems as I selected above.

BIOS is F12. The Beta UEFI BIOS is a PITA, and, after testing, several of us have reverted back to the Award F12 BIOS. I don't recommend the Beta UEFI BIOS.

The DSDT is in the tonymacx86 DSDT Database.

I recommend you re-read the original post build description because all the answers to your questions are there.

Hi Stork

I just looked in the DSDT downloads and didn't find one for the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH. Maybe it was removed sinced you looked there.. I'd sure like to get a copy.

Thanks
Macnutt

First, this is a thread for a Sandy Bridge Z68X-UD3H motherboard based system. Second, your Ivy Bridge Z77X-UP5H TH motherboard doesn't need a DSDT; see my Thunderball build description for more information.

I've installed Mavericks on a backup boot drive. I had to remove my graphics card first, but other than that it was smooth and easy. Even iMessage works!!!

So, if all continues to work well in my testing, I'll be going totally Mavericks really soon! Woohoo!

How'd you get iMessage to work? Is there a FileNVRAM in your /Extra/Modules folder?

Yes, there is actually. Is that what's making it work? It's still there from Mountain Lion I guess.

Keep using that version of FileNVRAM. You've probably got version 1.1.2. The latest version breaks iMessages but works with FaceTime.

OK well that's the right way around for me. I don't use FaceTime on this system, but use iMessage a lot.

I went ahead and went permanent with my Mavericks upgrade after verifying that all the stuff I need for day to day operations seems to work fine.

Now I just need to upgrade my wife's system and we're sailing. :)

My build is a little different, I'm using an Apple airport card for wireless and an Apple bluetooth module, i5 2500k, integrated graphics, UEFI BIOS...

I'm just posting to say that auto-sleep is working for me in 10.9 and figured most Z68X-UD3H-B3 owners would look here.

I'm using darkwake=10, Energy Saver is set to 15 min computer sleep, 10 min display sleep, and Put hard disks to sleep when possible. Network wake and power failure are unchecked.

I am NOT using Please Sleep.

Wakes with one key press on my Apple bluetooth keyboard or my magic trackpad.

Sleep/walk-up also works for me using the F12 Award BIOS on Mavericks. Sometimes I just have to the Spacebar. Other times, I have to push the power button. But, when it wakes up, everything works like it should. This is one of the best motherboards ever for a hackintosh.

Same here; same file, iMessage works. I don't have a webcam so I can't test FaceTime.
