Article: OS X 10.8.5 Supplemental Update 1.0

To those that are using the nVidia Web Drivers, don't now why you use it, as the original Apple GeForce drivers works like a charm.

nVidia's web drivers are far more recent than Apple's drivers. Apple on average is a full ten versions behind. The web drivers also fix bugs that Apple's versions do not. But unlike most other video card drivers, they are built against a very specific version of the OS and often crash or outright KP the machine on any other version of the OS.

Unfortunately ever since AMD stopped updating Mac drivers on their own, we've been stuck with outdated drivers in all Apple releases on the AMD side. This may be one of the reasons that no AMD cards are listed in the "compatible GPU" section of the CustoMac Build Guides.

Updated on both H77n-Wifi and Z87X-OC only had to enable audio using MultiBeast.
Looks like it hasn't updated the permission repairs for the iTunes App in Disk Utility.
There is the new release of iTunes 11.1.1 which resolves the issue.

I installed the new update and now I have no problems with the operating system(HP probook 4540s) ,just after reboot you should run the latest version of proobook installer and re-installing ....

Ran the update, everything seemed ok. After my second boot attempt, it always hangs after I see a long string of "SMC::smcReadKeyActionError"s

I installed FakeSMC and plugins with latest MultiBeast (5.5.2). I'm not really sure what needs to be fixed. Can anyone help me out. My searching for that error has just suggested that the FakeSMC needs to be updated, but that didn't seem to work for me...

Thanks in advance!

Using MSI Z77IA-E53 Motherboard. Updated through Apple Store and caused a kernel panic on boot. I'm so glad I have a Super Duper backup in a second hard drive. Booted to the backup and restored 10.8.4.

My procedure is to
  1. Repair Permissions using the Disk Utility on the drive to be updated;*
  2. Backup your current system with Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper;
  3. Run the Software Update;
  4. Reboot;
  5. Run the latest MultiBeast to reload only the audio driver;
  6. Reboot; and
  7. Repair Permissions again.*
Done!

* You can use the Terminal instead of Disk Utility if you feel comfortable with a UNIX command:
Code:
sudo diskutil repairPermissions /

Easy Peasy. Worked for me. Thanks.

Update went fine and the only thing it broke was Audio so I have reinstalled audio via MultiBeast and all good 

No problems with my IOGear GBU521 USB bluetooth 4.0 adapter

My USB3 ports would only mount USB devices on cold boot but since this update, USB3 ports mount and unmount whenever I want although I often have to use go into sleep/wake to mount USB3 so beats rebooting !
