HP ProBook Installer 6.1: 4x30s and 4x40s support

HP ProBook Installer 6.1 (beta): Ivy bridge support

That's the checksum, at least on my desktop, but I used MultiBeast for the initial install and this patch is applied by default by the UserDSDT option.

However, I've just checked the same file on my ProBook 4330s and it has the same checksum and as far as I remember, I haven't added it in any of the 4x30s options in the Installer. Is there anyone else with 4x30s and the same checksum for AppleRTC?

What checksum are you looking for... unpatched 10.8.4 is:
Code:
Speedy-ML:trackpad.git Admin$ md5 -q /System/Library/Extensions/AppleRTC.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleRTC
43d7bd19be683cfb8dae1826da40ab24

That is what I have on both my desktop and 4530s laptop and I believe both are unpatched.

On another another note, after I used the DSDT generator for a completely new DSDT - no errors. I have now lost the ability to sleep my ProBook, I found this in Console to suggest why. Previously I was not using GenericUSBXHCI.kext..

EDIT: Just found this in Console ->
Code:
27/06/2013 18:07:24.000 kernel[0]: The USB device HubDevice (Port 1 of Hub at 0x1a000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)

Turn off "wake on usb" in BIOS options.

Yes, that's the checksum of the unpatched AppleRTC.kext, which all Ivy postinstall scripts are looking for, I've just extracted the kext from InstallESD.dmg 10.8 and this kext hasn't been updated so far (I've also examined all combo updates, released so far).
And yet, I have a patched AppleRTC.kext on my ProBook. Weird! I don't know how this has happened.

Bit of hunting around; I already had Wake on USB turned off.

Interesting news, the DSDT that used to be available in the ProBook installer works perfectly for me and lets my system sleep nicely.
In contrast, the DSDT that was created using the DSDT generator in the latest installer causes the sleep problem.

Is there a slight difference between the old ones and the new ones which are generated? I can post the two DSDTs I have.

See if you can reproduce your sleep issues with a fresh install following the guide...

The problem goes away if I use the other DSDT, that I did not patch myself. So is a fresh install necessary due to it just being a DSDT issue? :(

EDIT -
When comparing the DSDTs, they are almost identical apart from the last two tree sections in MaciASL.
Under SMCD, there is only Fan0 in the old one. But the new one from the DSDT generator, SMCD contains Fan0, TCPU and TAMB. And DTGP is missing from the new one, but is in the old one.

To eliminate the some of the many variables... Just do it in an extra partition as a test. You don't have to mess with your existing install.

You would have to post the two DSDTs so they could be compared with diff.

i've setup a multi boot system using your guide on your blog, and forgot about adding an extra 'mac' partition as a test. System using only one hdd/ssd.

for the mac test partition, what is the absolute minimum space required for os x 10.8.4?

on the above said system, is it possible to create that extra mac test partition without messing things up, and probably not being able to boot?

or is it required to start from scratch? thanks

also, can someone point me to the post with the updated list of wifi/bluetooth cards for 4x40s please, or can i get the same card for the 4x30s and use that in the 4x40s. thanks.

See the half-sized section in here:

If you have 4x40s, I would recommend Atheros AR5BHB92 (ar9280 chipset).

You can use Disk Utility to shrink your current partitions and add another
