Same, there is supposed to be an article coming out to address why, soon. The benchmarks were dropping considerably, however I have not had any functional issue at this time. Let me load in a extremely intensive game and I'll report back in a bit...

Gang,

See MacMan's article on the OS X 10.8.3 and NVIDIA 6xx OpenCL Benchmarks issues.

That's the one, thanks Stork!

You're welcome. I got something out of this, though. I'm writing this from the Hack boot; I was in WIN8 before. I had not realized that the 640 would handle three monitors; so, I moved the one DVI connector from the 4000 on board connector to the DVI-I on the 640 and after a change in the bios, here we are. So, thanks. Now, I could do 5 monitors if needed, HA.

Also, you might want to add a signature to your profile to indicate what MB you're using; in case there is a BIOS solution? Or, change your "system" descriptor to what MB you use.

Happy Hacking, Chuck

Have now switched to the GTX 650 Ti BOOST card with 4 concurrent outputs; all digital. Works OOB

Gtx 650 ti boost

Hey I see that you have the GTX 650 ti boost and I was wondering how well it works in osx and if you would recommend this card to someone else?

Works except that it's descriptor in "Displays/Graphics" says nVidia 106, which it is. I'm a Windows user primarily and dual boot for the challenge and knowledge of learning Mac software. I help maintain a small group of computers at our retirement community here in AZ. One of them is an iMAC; so, I built a Hackintosh for the fun.
This is the least expensive card to offer SLI, if I ever decide to try that? The EVGA brand off ALL digital outputs (4); while others have a VGA connection instead of a display port. I run 3 monitors all the time; with two always ON. The third is my HDTV for watching movies on my PC.

So, bottom line; it's an excellent investment. For reference, my Win8 index went from 6.9 with the 640 to 7.8 with the 650.

Enjoy

I'm using an EVGA 650 Ti Super Clocked and it works OOB. However it also has a loud fan at idle. Because of the fan I wouldn't recommend it.

Does your card have a loud fan? Mine is the EVGA 650 Ti Super Clocked edition and the fan is loud enough to hear it across the room.
