Hi Toleda, first of all, thanks for your hard work and support in this forum. I did the modifications shown above to have the encoded digital audio option in 889, it works great with my receiver (Old one without HDMI) but I lost the "headphones" option, it was replaced by "internal speakers" is this something that can be fixed while still keeping the encoded digital audio option? I want to be able to hear audio through the headphones when I don't want to use the receiver. Thanks.
With System Preferences/Sound/Output open, what happens to Internal Speakers when you plug in your headphones?

Hi, toleda i was wondering if you could help again. With all kext thus far i either get no audio with no outputs or i have outputs but no audio.

Now i have found a VoodooHDA.kext that works i put in my device ID and the sound somewhat works (Thats if you class choppy sound and crackles). So i have done a dump of a 5.1 Version and a DarwinDump as well with the IOReg i was wondering if you could take a look and see if there is anything there that could explain why normal AppleHDA.kext modded for 892 doesn't work on my 892 which is a MSI board as such.

I ask for your wisdom as this will not only help me but others with the same issue.

The OS is a Clean install no upgrade paths.

Thanks in Advance.

PS not using DSDT HDEF Edits as these seem on my bios to be buggy.

EDIT: Forgot to state that Line-Out is Headphones and Headphones is infact Speakers. Currently Microphone is deemed not working as the internal one is not and i have no other mic to test with.

Sorry to but in on your guy's conversation, but I think I can continue from here. I have the same issue with my "headphones" no longer being recognized. They show up as "internal speakers."

However, once I plug in headphones, the label actually changes to "headphones"! I thought this meant success, but no - still no output.

I have a Gigabyte UD5H (ALC 898) and an Antec 1200 case. Any ideas?

I spent the last hour or so reading through this entire threads (and some others based on my mobo). Sounds like there are known issues with the green port in the back, along with the headphone jack. I've read more issues about the back port, but seems like some people are having issues with front audio.

Any solutions (that don't involve soldering) would be welcomed. I'm using the latest BIOS as of this posting (F14).

I have no knowledge of experience with Voodoo, can't help there. Regarding AppleHDA.kext, MSI uses pinconfigs that are not compatible with OS X, consequently, no sound. Your only option is Voodoo.

The headphone being line out, etc are additional pinconfig problems.

By the way DarwinDump is interesting, however, the most important tool for troubleshooting is not available. The ioreg.txt is not a substitute for a copy of IOReg.

Glad you did the research. Your problem is hardware. There is no known software solution available for OS X or Linux.

Is that also the case for the front panel audio? Like I said, when I plug in my headphone jack, in settings it changes from "Internal" to "Headphone." Also my front mic works fine.

Even if there is no solution, I'm just glad that 2 of the outputs are working in the back (Black and Orange), and I THANK YOU for that!!!

Green front and green rear are not enabled on the Z77-UD5H. Only green front jack detect is working and the amp is not.

Dang...and you say that's a hardware issue? Stupid Gigabyte. Oh well, I can't complain - my build is almost perfect.

EDIT: Since these outputs aren't working, is there a way I can disable them from the settings menu?
