I just updated and won't finish loading.

I navigated to S/L/E/FakeSMC.kext, but on it's Contents folder I don't have any PlugIns folder, so I can't erase anything.

Booting in -v mode, it stops in a line with something related to the network card (can't remember right now, but it is for sure related to network).

Is not very problematic for me as I did a CCC clone to a different drive, and I'm using it right now, but I would like to have it updated.

My setup is Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H with i7 3770.

I was able to load the 10.8.2 update directly from the Software Update. No need for the combo update. The only thing I needed to do was reload my ATI48xx kext, as the video was causing KP on reboot.

MB: GB Z68XP-UD3 (U1G)
CPU: i7 2600k
GFX: ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB

After I installed 10.8.2 and going into safe mode, it loads but my screen is white and i can only see the mouse cursors and nothing else.
Does anyone know how to fix that?

For me, there is no OEMsmbios.kext or Plugins folder in FakeSMC.kext.

Boot in Safe Mode (-x)
Delete AppleACPIPlatform in S/L/E
Install

using kextbeast.
Reboot

Removing Vt-d from BIOS finally did the trick for me.

Ok, please disregard my last post. I updated to 10.8.2 successfully (after one failure) by installing a different fakesmc.kext before running the combo updater.

Originally, I had the one made by Slice, but replaced it with the one from Kozlec. That did the trick for me. All I had to do was reapply my audio and opencl enabler through multibeast before rebooting. If all else has failed you, try this. Make a backup of your original fakesmc.kext and delete it from /S/L/E. Then extract the fakesmc.kext from the attached zip onto your desktop and run KextBeast. Reboot and run your combo updater. Good luck!

Can't boot with my GeForce GT520 card so I had to remove it and boot with the Intel HD3000. Removing nvidia's kexts from /S/L/E and just crashed totally the system
