OS X 10.8.2 Update

Confirming success with Combo Updater, with the following setup:

Motherboard: GA-Z77X-UP5-TH
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k
RAM: 16GB Corsair 1600Mhz DDR3
GPU: Intel Core i7-3770k (Intel HD 4000)

I had to reinstall the bootloader with Multibeast, since I have a Windows 7 / Mountain Lion install, but that took literally 10 seconds and all was well again.

I can't confirm anything about sound, though, I use an external sound device. But I figured I'd make a post here because I didn't see anyone else mention the GA-Z77X-UP5-TH yet, only the UD5H, and I know my motherboard was a popular choice because of the recent buyer's guide post.

Successful update here, after some work. My config:

GA-Z77X-UD5H
i5-3550
MSI R6850

Install from the combo update package left me un-bootable, indefinite spinning progress wheel with apple logo. First I tried booting into safe mode, but after boot my graphics went to the blank white screen that others have mentioned. I tried the sleep/wake trick for ATI 6xxx cards but my machine wouldn't wake from sleep. Then I tried single user mode, attempting to remove the oembios kext that others have mentioned, only to find that the kext wasn't even there! Finally, I found a comment mentioning the VT-d BIOS option. I changed VT-d to Disabled in my BIOS setup, and the system booted perfectly! Audio was gone, as others have mentioned, but re-installing the ALC898 driver with multibeast was a breeze.

TL;DR: Got endless loading screen, then white screen, then disabled VT-d in BIOS and it booted normally.

SUCCESS GIGABYTE EP43-UD3L F9 BIOS. Downloaded combo update, installed. Rebooted, everything working except audio. Ran Multibeast, rebooted and system working perfectly.

Configuration:

Gigabyte EP43-UD3L, F9 Bios, DSDT
Intel Q9300, OCZ DDR3 800, 2gb x 4, Seagate 500GB Sata and 500GB Time Machine SATA, Generic SATA DVD RW
Nvidia GT250
TP Link TL-WDN4800
Vantec UGT-FW210 Firewire
Logitech Webcam Pro 9000

Article: OS X 10.8.2 Update

After update I've got boot error, grey indicator has spinning forever. After that I've boot in verbose mode and I've saw that loading stopped on line with message about intel vt-d, then I just disabled intel vt-d in bios and system has booted without any error.
my config: Core i7 3770k & gigabyte z77-ds3h

Fixed it for me as well.

This is what tonymacx86 means by "If you use FakeSMC plugins, and get a kernel panic after reboot. Boot into safe mode by typing -x at the Chimera boot screen. Then navigate to /System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext/Contents/Plugins/ and delete OEMsmbios.kext. Then reboot."

If you installed fakeSMC plugins at some point and don't delete the OEMsmbios.kext before you restart after the update to 10.8.2, you'll get this panic and should see it if you boot in verbose mode.

I am getting spinning wheels after updating the 10.8.2 combo update. Have to start restoring all over again to 10.8.1.
