Speedstep does it work?

Hi again Moarfish.

Congratulations for your work for all.

I have been this month thinking about which mobo to buy (b75m-d3h or z68ma-d2h-b3) and finally guess B75 could be the best option for an ivy bridge build.
Only question please:

I will buy also a different graphic card (GT640 or GTX 650) for mountain lion install (usin dvi to hdmi cable) and after this i will connect it to HDMI - HDMI on my TV. I won't use HD4000 finally.
Could be a problem ?

What system definition for HDMI must use after installation: mac mini or imac.

Thanks again for the info. ;)

Install FakeSMC Plugins for the motherboard and HWMonitor Application in Multibeast should let you know that Speedstep does work. It will show the current clock speed on the upper right hand corner of the screen.

If you are not planning to use HDMI Audio and just use HDMI as video output, it usually do not have much work to do.
GT640 or GTX650 should work natively as I know. Remember to set GraphicsEnabler=No. I do not have one of those, so please confirm this in the graphic section of this forum yourself.

For system definition it really depends on your need. If you just need HDMI video output, just left the default Mac Pro settings and would be fine. If you need Airplay Mirror, it would be better set to Mac Mini.

I am such a noob on this....

I have a B75M-D3P with i5 3570K...
I cannot get it to boot after multibeast.
Not sure what I did wrong?!
I installed everything that is checked on your list when it comes to multibeast but when i reboot, it stays on the apple logo screen and the spinning gear stays stuck...
any suggestions?

Did you use any Graphics Card?
If not, try to reset your EFI Bios settings to the default and just change the SATA to AHCI mode.

I did get to work. Thanks...
I am using the onboard graphics card which is an HD4000.
Now my issue is, I have a vga monitor. Thats not good right?
I bought a VGA to HDMI cable but I get no video. With the VGA adapter, I get video but its pretty choppy when it comes to youtube and using high graphic situations like moving launchpad.

Any ideas as to what settings I can change to make either the HDMI work or the VGA if possible.

This is what my display settings show:

Display:

Type: GPU
Bus: Built-In
VRAM (Total): 64 MB of Shared System Memory
Vendor: Intel (0x8086)
Device ID: 0x0162
Revision ID: 0x0009
Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded
Displays:
Display:
Resolution: 1024 x 768
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes

Thanks for the help.

Apple hasn't supported VGA since Moses was a child. I recommend you give the VGA monitor to Goodwill and invest in new monitor. You will be soooo glad you did.

Monitor buying advise. Read monitor reviews on the more reputable Internet review sites, such as Anandtech or TFT Central (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/). Then, go to a retail store, like Best Buy or Micro Center (if you live in the US), and compare them side by side. Unfortunately, the store displays are not "setup" (tuned) so the displays will not necessarily show you a good presentation. In my case, I have bad eyes, so I only buy IPS technology monitors which cost $350+ for a 24" monitor.

Thanks, I figured thats the problem. Should I invest with a monitor that has DVI or one with HDMI?

Thanks for the help.
