Gt 640

Supposedly the Kepler cards (starting with the GT 640) work well with Mountain Lion. I'll find out at some point today. Fedex is scheduled to deliver my GT 640 today. I have my fingers crossed that it will work fine.

Did the GT 640 work out-of-the-box?

I found out something weird with my setup. I was having the wakeup issues where the display wouldn't come back on and I would have to reboot. I just flashed an updated bios to my ASUS R3E and rebooted without any overclocking. Now my system wakes up from sleep (when initiated using power button - won't auto sleep) until i start trying to overclock. Just changing the BCLK from 133 causes the display not to wake up from sleep. Do I need to install the SSDT from Multibeast to allow overclocking to work?

NVIDIA GeForce Fermi based GT 430

Hello!
My card: NVIDIA GeForce Fermi based GT 430. Mountain lion installed and i have these problems:

- screen pictured
- blue screen and system freeze if i try to change resolution from the optimal to different. In this case, I am forced to shut down the PC with the power button. I attach the ioreg in the thread indicated.

OK, i have Good News & Bad News

Since ML was released i have try to find the issue for the nVidia Problems. Now i can confirm definitive:
Replacing "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle" with those from 10.7.4 & repair permissions (very important) works!

Good News:
I have now:

Turning Off/On Monitor: - Works! - No Blue/White Screen anymore.
SleepEnabler Sleep/Wake: - Works! - No freezed Window anymore. (Do not Overclock your Machine, otherwise your Machine will not wake up back, but crash and CMOS will reset). Important is that the BCLK is set to default. in my case the BCLK is 133.
Youtube: - Works! Fullscreen & back, no problem
Justin.tv: - Works! Fullscreen & back, no problem

Bad News:
i have now:

OpenGL is not supported: - That means most of all Apps or Games are not running.
iTunes Visualizer: - Not Working
VLC Player: - Not Working! - Following message appear by opening a video "OpenGL is not supported"
Games: - Not Working! - Black Screen or crash back to desktop. (All Games)

So, what we have learned now: - This is a Driver issue!

1. That it's very important that the System runs with "default" BCLK, (in my case 133), otherwise your System will not wake up back, but "crash & CMOS will reset".
(that had nothing to do with 10.7.4 "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle" the "crash & CMOS reset" also happens with the original ML ""GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle", so remember to set BCLK in Bios to default. to prevent "Crash & CMOS issue".

2. That the "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle 10.7.4" fixes the Turning Off/On Monitor Issue.
3. That the "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle 10.7.4" fixes SleepEnabler Sleep/Wake is issue.

In other words, the "Blue/White screen & SleepEnabler" issue is solved now, but there is no "OpenGL", and we know, "OpenGL is really needed"

So now we need someone with magic hands to get inside either "GeForce.kext" & "GeForceGLDriver.bundle from 10.7.4" and activate "OpenGL". Then we are able to replace those with the Mountain Lion one's, and it will work.

Only to let you know:
What is also have noticed, is that i Need to overclock my Hackintosh. if i Run my system with BCLK 133 (default) i got a very strange noise from my Hackintosh. This is not the case if i overclock and run with BCLK 150. So if i want or not, finally i need to run overcklocked to get rid of the noise.

I'm really looking forward for some help, as here my powers end, i'm not a coder or decoder etc... this is in others hand.

Thanks a lot.

cheers

Well good's news people, I find what it's causing the problem: Is the GeForceGLDriver.bundle, more Specific the file GeForceGLDriver on it. Make a right click on GeForceGLDriver.bundle and select "Show package content" and go to: "Contents->MacOS>GeForceGLDriver".

The good new is that i get my card fully working and in theory have to works with all the Fermi cards that have Problems.

Here's some notes:

-For get full resolution you have to make a backup of your files "GeForce.kext & GeForceGLDriver.bundle" and install the same Lion 10.7.4 kexts restart mountain lion and when mountain lion start again choose your best resolution(If you don't can start Mountain Lion after installing the kexts, start in safe mode on chameleon Bootloader: -v -x). With the Lion kexts you don't have Full Graphics Acceleration So you have to install the next kexts after you change the best resolution. :)

-After you choose the best resolution Install this modify version of the Mountain Lion "GeForce.kext & GeForceGLDriver.bundle" edited by me with Full Graphics Acceleration: http://cl.ly/3A432l3W253t

Please leave your comments if this work for you.

PD: Everything works fine for me on my GTS 450 1GB GDDR5

Update: I try playing StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and works ok, and iTunes and VLC Works fine too. :)

Thanks, i will give a try, do i also need to run "repair permissions"?

OK, i have tried. but it does not work,

I had full resolution (1680x1050) before, so i do not need to install the 10.7.4 first, so i have added your modified files put it on the right place. repair permission.
Still exact same issues as before. with blue screen etc..

thanks anyway for your help.

But yes, "GeForce.kext & GeForceGLDriver.bundle" is the problem.

by the way, what does this mean?
"I find what it's causing the problem: Is the GeForceGLDriver.bundle, more Specific the file GeForceGLDriver on it. Make a right click on GeForceGLDriver.bundle and select "Show package content" and go to: "Contents->MacOS>GeForceGLDriver".

why do we need to go there? replacing something or what?
