I haven't found a program to reliably detect CPU frequency in OSX so ill boot windows when Im back at my hack (rhymes :p ) tomorrow and post a cpuz pic :)

Can you help me reach 5Ghz stable, please? With the BIOS settings?
...sorry if my english is bad, I am from Romania  and I am new in OC-ing :)

My Bios settings are in a previous post on page 7. (at least the settings that matter).

And before anyone else gets any more ideas, let me make this absolutely clear:

I was VERY lucky to get a chip that can reach 5.0GHz, most top out at around 4.5. Also, to reach 5.0GHz originally I went on a SUICIDE RUN (not recommended, it's called that for a reason.). Another thing, setting your core voltage to anything above 1.35 volts WILL shorten the life of your chip, and anything above 1.4 is considered UNSAFE. I chose to take these risks as I have the overclocking warranty from intel.

Finally a tip, if your machine is brand new, burn it in by using it for a few months before you go for a crazy overclock, it helps.

I'll start a thread in the overclocking section in a while and will continue there so we don't ruin this one :p

Thanks man! My Hackintosh is 4 months old and was made from brand new parts. I'll get to you when I reach 5GHz. Cheers :D

Mine @ 4.8GHz...it won't let me push more

Not yet, school is killing me and when I get a break I will probe this chip's precise limits like any good scientist would ;)

And play skyrim.
